  • Ep 349: Live a life that expresses your values, with Chris Duffin

    24/02/2021 Duración: 01h02min

Chris Duffin is one of the strongest pound-for-pound humans in the world. He's the only person to squat and deadlift more than 1,000 pounds for reps, holding the Guinness World Record on the sumo deadlift.   The story of how he became a world record-holding powerlifter and sought-after strength coach is truly remarkable, as Chris grew up homeless in the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest before eventually escaping his life of extreme poverty.   In this conversation, Chris recounts his journey and what he's up to these days as a father, an entrepreneur, and an author, among many other things.   Connect with Chris at https://christopherduffin.com, on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/christopherduffindotcom, and on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/mad_scientist_duffin.

  • Ep 348: You can't go wrong getting strong, with Dr. Al Lin

    17/02/2021 Duración: 55min

You can't go wrong getting strong!   I love that way of thinking from this week's guest, Dr. Al Lin, who has been a practicing physical therapist for more than 17 years.   Al and other PTs like him are challenging the long-held beliefs in the physical therapy community that weight training is to be avoided, and instead, they are helping their patients get strong to provide them lasting relief rather than short-term fixes.   Connect with Al on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/thebarbellcure.    Be sure to visit this week's podcast partner, Tonal, at https://www.tonal.com. • Ep 347: Control your attitude and your effort and let the rest happen, with Nick Royer

    10/02/2021 Duración: 52min

Nick Royer is a father, an entrepreneur, and fitness world-record holder who believes there are major defining moments that have shifted the trajectory of his life for the better. Like the time he was gifted a fake Rolex watch by a former boss. Or when he broke a world-record in the bench press as a teenage powerlifter. As the owner of a thriving roofing business, Nick holds firm to his belief that fitness and hard work and following consistent positive habits create success in all areas of life, with help from good people along the way. • Fit Dad Q&A: Fit at any age, unique exercise to grow your chest, and HIIT vs. long walks

    04/02/2021 Duración: 38min

You've got questions? I've got answers! Another Fit Dad Q&A is primed and ready for your ears.   The questions from Instagram and the Fit Dad Forum I answer this week are:   • Is there an age limit on getting fit? • How often do your AirPods fall out during a workout? • I'm going to take a break for two months, how do I maintain the muscle progress? • Any different/unique chest exercises to add to chest day to help grow pecs? • I realize any physical activity is better than nothing. However, in terms of “getting the biggest bang for your buck” would a HIIT workout for 10-15 minutes be better than a brisk walk for 1-3 miles? The goal being to build lean muscle and lose weight. These workouts are in addition to a weekly weight training workout. • So I just did a pretty hard swim workout and have a push lift session. The question is, would you lower the reps or the amount of weight during the strength session?   For all things Fit Dad Fitness, follow me on Instagram (https://instagram.com/fitdadfitness), joi

  • Ep 345: Pour into relationships and step in boldly, with Jon Vroman of Front Row Dads

    03/02/2021 Duración: 01h03min

As you'll hear, through his work with Front Row Dads, he's not only been able to help tons of other fathers show up better for those they love most, but he's been able to apply much of the wisdom and experiences of other dads to his own life as well.   Check out Front Row Dads at https://frontrowdads.com, and follow on Instagram at https://instagram.com/frontrowdads?igshid=14zr6z2dss1py.
