    Grishma Ritu in Ayurveda is related to the summer season. In India those dates range from Mid-May- to Mid-July. Those dates might not align to your summer season so make sure you adjust those dates pending on when the summer months are for you. The dosha most predominant at this season is often thought to be pitta. In the ancient Ayurvedic texts they actually don’t reference pitta.     My Water Broke on the same day 7 years to the day my water broke with my first son On February 28th at 3am my water broke. Which happened to be 7 years to the day my water broke with my first son Jalen. My contractions weren’t intense so stayed in bed and slept. When I got up in the morning I called the midwives to tell them my progress. I was 41 weeks & 3 days pregnant. I stayed home to labor until contractions were coming every 5-8 minutes apart which was around 3:30pm.

    At the time I'm writing this I'm 38.5 weeks pregnant. I have had a completely different pregnancy this time vs with my son. In all honesty with my son I felt embarrassed of my pregnancy. My husband and I had just gotten married and boom we were pregnant. So we got a ton of comments of wow that was fast, and I was not mentally prepared for pregnancy.     In Ayurveda we look at the doshas, seasons and your own health. We look at what doshas might be affected by the cold or hot therapies being provided. I went straight to the Ayurvedic text - Ashtanga Hrudayam to understand what the ancient Ayurvedic wisdom was on the topic. During extreme winter taking a cold bath or cold plunges can deplete both the kapha and vata dosha since both doshas have cold qualities about them. Cold plunges can cause or worsen respiratory problems such as cold, coughs and asthmas.
