    Seth Funderburg is the man behind Black Matter Training. He coaches a group of runners in the Central Florida area and is himself one of the area’s top runners. Seth is also a movement specialist with a background in personal training. This helps him assess his runners’ movement patterns (form and flow) and prescribe corrective exercises that will improve their functional strength. At one point Dave held the steeplechase record at Stanford. He was also a part of the 1990 Hood to Coast team title.     Dr. Jeff Messer is a professor of exercise science at Mesa Community College in Arizona. He was an 8:22 3000m runner in college. As a high school head cross country coach he won 6 state titles with Xavier College Prep and 3 state titles with Desert Vista.   • Episode 21- Coach Hal Higdon

    In this episode we talk to a pioneer of American distance running. Hal Higdon competed in 8 US Olympic Trials including a 5th place finish in the 3000m steeplechase in 1960. He also finished 5th at the 1964 Boston Marathon in a time of 2:21:55. His success rolled over into the masters ranks when he ran 9:18.6 in the steeplechase and set the M40 record. That is to say nothing of his award-winning journalism career or the thousands upon thousands of people he has helped through his training plans.
