Sinopsis
Hi everybody, and welcome to the Dad and Buried podcast! Basically, this podcast will be like my blog, except instead of writing angry things about my kids, I'll be saying them directly into your ears. You've all stopped reading my blog anyway, thanks to mark Zuckerberg, but I'm not done ranting about parenting, so I decided to create a new format to give people what they want: me and some guy they've never heard of complaining about our children.

Don't Expect Anything When You're Expecting: Things Parents Wish They Knew Before Kids - #97
09/04/2021 Duración: 59minLook, it’s not possible to prepare for a kid. Period. Oh, so you "kinda get it" cause you "look after" your "nieces" and "nephews"? That's some low-rent, pitiful, pre-baby thinking right there. Babies are like a box of chocolates; you never know how you got them. Another chocolate/baby difference is instead of eating them you have to FEED them. That’s a big one. So to sum up, don’t eat babies, you can't bank sleep, your kid may do crack cocaine, but if you can watch the movie Terminator with them it’s all worth it. Enjoy! Support us

Division of Labor: A Parents Guide - #96
25/03/2021 Duración: 49minThat beautiful moment when your child arrives is magical. Then seven minutes later the reality sets in and you need to start doing stuff. You need to feed the them, dress them, walk them, put them to bed (no one needs to wake them up tho). The key is who does what? But more importantly, who does more? Yes, you do, of course. Mike and Heather Get into it. Enjoy! Support us

Who Made Who? Where Your Kids Personality Traits come From - #94
05/03/2021 Duración: 54minThe key to being good parents is agreeing which traits come from which parent. Like when you're kids really good at burping the alphabet. But anytime something bad happens you turn to your spouse and yell "Well he's your kid!!" Mike and Heather (@momandburied) get into it. Enjoy! Support us

A Year into Parenting Through COVID: A Celebration of Togetherness - #93
25/02/2021 Duración: 56minIt's almost been a year, one whole year, since we said goodbye to normalcy and hunkered down with our families. At first it was scary. Then, after some time, we did the best we could to make the best of it. But after 3 days we knew this wasn't going to work so we just focused on getting a much toilet paper as we could fit in our pickups (ah good times). The lack of separation has been real. Constant screen time, constant grazing, constant fighting with siblings, ugh. Mike and Pete get into it. Support us

A Parents Guide to Enjoying Winter Fun with Kids: It's A Very Short Guide - #92 | Dad & Buried
04/02/2021 Duración: 55minWelp, school snow days are no longer a thing, thanks COVID! But also maybe, thanks COVID? Snow is like toxic friendship. When it first starts it's beautiful, peaceful. Then as time goes on it changes from light and fluffy to hard as concrete specifically frozen around the wheels of your car. Getting kids in and out of snow is a parent's ultimate test. The layers! The time it takes! OMG THE GLOVES!!! IT'S ONE FINGER PER HOLE!!! GAHHH!! Mike and Pete expertly navigate this subject. Enjoy and Bon Chance! Support us

Does your birth order affect your parenting style? - #90
21/01/2021 Duración: 53minWell, well well, if it isn't the consequence of my own parent's actions... It's been scientifically proven that your birth order DOES determine how you parent. And by "scientifically" I mean a guy I knew who took a science class told me so. That's really about as scientific as we get in this episode with Mike and Pete(r). And, boy, do they really not get into it. Enjoy! Support us

Parenting Resolutions : This is gonna be my yea...Damnit! - #89
14/01/2021 Duración: 52min[2020]: things can't possibly get worse. [2021]: hold my beer... Welp, looks like we picked the wrong year to quit Methamphetamines, or oxycontin, or even plain ol' sweet black tar heroin. With the unimaginable happing on the daily (AND WE'RE ONLY 12 DAYS IN!) it's up to us parents to make sure we raise our kids better than what we're seeing out there. Its starts with us making changes we need to provide out kids with the best versions of ourselves as examples. I'm talking to YOU, man in the mirror, no not you, the other guy (how did you get in here?) With Pete out this week Mike and Heather (aka @momandburied) really get into it. Oh yeah, and their kids make an appearance too... 2021, you're shaping up to be a real son of a bi*ch! Support us

A Look Back at Parenting in 2020: A Year With No Downside - #88
31/12/2020 Duración: 59minAh 2020, it's almost as if you were the year that Y2K should've been. Most years we optimistically look forward to new adventures in the coming year. This year it's like we're clawing our way out of the sewer happy to find we've made it to the inside to toilet. While kids had 3000% more screentime it's us parents that had 3000% more stress, as we balanced our jobs (if we were still lucky enough to have one) and our kids entire eduction (WHAT'S THE DAMN PASSWORD!!?). In an amazing twist of irony there were also some good things that came out of 2020. There where "highs & lows," as some people would put it, but not Mike though, he likes the phrase "Peaks & Pits" which is horrible. Mike and Pete get into it with your help. Enjoy! Support us

Holiday Traditions: The good, the bad and the ugly - Ep 87
17/12/2020 Duración: 52minMost people like the holiday season. Warm feelings, family time, and decorations. It's...nice. Then there are those who want to mainline the holiday season like that sweet, sweet black tar heroin. It's the smell of the Christmas tree that you cut down yourself, because your "family" wouldn't help. I'm sorry it was "too cold" and they "hate me" for "taking you on a 2 hour walk" in the "freezing cold." It's ok their stupid voices are drowned out by the rush of gingerbread combined with sweet sound of Christmas music. Shh...only dreams now, only dreams...Ahem, sorry. Pete's out this week so Mike and Heather (Mike's much better half) get into it all. Enjoy! Support us

Education Deflation: Are Schools Failing Kids? - #86
26/11/2020 Duración: 01h13minOnly now are are seeing the effects of 40 years of privatized, free-market education combined with a growing beaurcpatic quagmire pitting politicians against unions and unions against teachers, with parents caught smack-dab in the middle. All of which culminates in the devaluation of the one thing the United States holds so dear; it's children...Take THAT! Mr McKinley my AP Modern European History teacher from 20-30 year ago. What's that? A run on? Poor premise? Damnit! Mike and Pete get into it. Support us

The History of Parenting: A Masterclass - #84
05/11/2020 Duración: 01h13minThe term "Parenting" only became a thing in the 70's. Before then it was all "yeah, I got kids around here somewhere.'
