Steve Anderson is known as the “Dry Fire Guy” and has published three successful books. Steve has also been a frequent guest on the Firearms Nation Podcast as well as the Shooter’s Summit. Adam Kraut has been a guest before on the Firearms Nation Podcast. He is an attorney who fights for gun rights and previously ran for the board at the National Rifle Association. Currently, Adam is now the Director of Legal Strategy at the Firearms Policy Coalition. The Coalition fights legal battles, mostly for our 2nd Amendment rights. In this episode we get into the current struggle for gun rights in this election year, specifically discussing the red flag laws being presented. Are they worth it or are they a ploy to just confiscate guns? Bob Vogel is one of the best shooters in the country. Not only has he earned World Championships, but he was also a police officer for many years and a SWAT team member. Bob currently teaches full time all over the world and competes at a ton of major matches in USPSA and IPSC. This interview comes from the 2018 Shooter’s Summit where we talk about what it takes to be a better shooter and how to rise to the level of grandmaster in USPSA. Mike Wood is the son of a 30 year veteran of California Highway Patrol and Mike wrote the book “Newhall Shooting-A Tactical Analysis”. This book breaks down the horrific shooting of four CHP officers and what was learned. Mike also is a firearms instructor and columnist for PoliceOne.com. His column is called Tactical Analysis and I found an article that I thought was insightful. The article was on how today’s law enforcement officers could learn from 70s era cops on how to stay safe and deal with the current radical anti-government forces. This is the same radicals the 1970s police were fighting, only now the generation has changed..but the ideas are still there. Mike breaks down actionable steps that will keep you safe and provides a massive historical context to it all. John Currie is the everyman reviewer over at PewPewTactical.com, a gun and gear related blog. John also works as the Social Media Director so basically, he plays with guns and then posts it up on Facebook! Pew Pew Tactical has a ton of info from gun reviews to “how-to” guides on how to conceal carry for women. It’s extremely people friendly and makes checking out the top carry guns a fun way of research. John shoots a lot and films his reviews for video content. Jennifer Fulford was a deputy sheriff back in 2004 when she went to a suspicious incident call. A child on the phone was stating strange men were in the house and on arrival she met up with the female homeowner who was acting strange. It turned out three men were inside committing an armed home invasion. Jennifer got into a gunfight with two of the men and despite being shot multiple times, she was able to take out both suspects. The third suspect gave up. Jennifer went on to have a career in law enforcement and now talks to other officers on how to survive critical events. Jeremy Griffin is a classic entrepreneur who has put his resources into starting a new kind of shooting sport. Dropzone Gunner is basically an outdoor obstacle race with shooting mixed into it. Those races are very popular and people have a great time competing in them. So Jeremy thought why not include shooting and have people who never shot a gun before, get out and try it. Mike Foley was just elected to be President of the USPSA or United States Practical Shooting Association. This organization has over 30,000 members and over 500 clubs throughout the nation. It is by far one of the biggest shooting sports out there and one that I compete in. Mike had a lot of accomplishments in his first four years and now is looking ahead to solidify his legacy. Rossen Hristov is an instructor at the Tactical Performance Center out in Utah. Rossen, who is originally from Bulgaria, met up with Ron Avery and the two hit it off when it came to understanding the path to become a better shooter. Both of them had a foundation in the martial arts and brought that over to Ron’s scientific approach and teaching style. Rossen became an instructor with his background in combat tactics and competition shooting. Rossen is a grandmaster shooter in USPSA and also shoots world wide in IPSC. Frank Proctor is a veteran of Special Forces and served for over 20 years. Frank is also a competitive shooter in USPSA and started competing when he was in the Army. He quickly rose the ranks to grandmaster and found that his competitive skills helped him in the tactical arena. Once Frank retired, he started teaching full time. Over the years Frank’s skillset helped him design several products and now he sells everything from rifle slings to pistol sights. He recently began competing again and we discuss what that was like in addition to why he loves training on steel targets. Kerry Davis is the man behind Dark Angel Medical. His company not only sells tourniquets, chest seals and pressure bandages, but pushes out a ton of training. In Kerry’s mind, everyone should have a tourniquet and get the necessary training. Patrick Kelley has been shooting for a long time. He is an avid competitor, mostly known his shooting on the TV show “3 Gun Nation”.
