Midday Tapping (Pod #366)
05/06/2019 Duración: 14minSupport the podcast! In part one of "Getting Out Of My Own Way", the ten-part guide for using tapping to eliminate self-sabotage, I shared with you tapping to use at each end of your day. Tapping is a great way to start off your day on the right foot. Ending the day with tapping helps to let go any unresolved emotions from the day and helps us to get a better night's sleep. But tapping in the middle of the day is often overlooked and can be really helpful, providing the opportunity to: Release any disappointment about what you haven't achieved in the morning Catch your breath and re-ground yourself Set your intention for the rest of the day Tapping in this way is super easy! I have included a tap-along audio and tapping script to help you to reset at midday. EFT for Feeling Like a Fraud (Pod #365)
29/05/2019 Duración: 14minSupport the podcast! Feeling like we don't belong is tough. It might be because we don't feel we are smart enough, talented enough, have something offer the world, or that we just don't fit in. Feeling like a fraud means that we don't contribute or speak up, we hide in the background, or we don't even show up. All of these strategies are to keep us safe because we don't want to be found out. In most cases, feeling like a fraud has nothing to do with who we are, what we can do, and what we have to offer. Instead, it is because we are comparing what is going on inside our head with what we see on the outside of those around us. We know our intentions and when we don't live up to them. We know the fear or insecurity we feel when we are taking action. At the same time, we only see what others do and assume (wrongly) that they are acting with perfect confidence and calm. This means we aren't treating ourselves fairly! Below is a tap-along audio and tapping script that will help you to tap when you feel like a frau

Getting To The Bottom Of It w/ Lori Lamont (Pod #364)
22/05/2019 Duración: 25minSupport the podcast! In Recovering Sell - A Healing Manifesto I share twelve thoughts on healing. Number six is: "There is always resistance to change because if there weren't resistance, you would have changed already." As a tapper, this means that one of our most important tasks is to find the root cause(s) preventing us from taking action or making change. Lori Lamont has developed an easy tool that you can use as a practitioner, or when you are tapping on your own to uncover these hidden resistances. In addition to showing you how to uncover resistance, we also talk about a new way to capture these underlying issues so you can come back to them again and again. This is a tool that every tapper needs to have in their tapping tool box. Subscribe in: Apple | iPhone | Android | Google | Spotify

EFT for Grief w/ Lynne Staley (Pod #363)
15/05/2019 Duración: 36minSupport the podcast! Grief is a topic that we don't talk about much publicly. We talk about loss. We talk about moving on. But we don't talk about grief itself. When we don't talk about and process grief, it lingers and can cause problems for us in the future. This week I have a conversation with Lynne Staley. Lynne is a tapper and certified Grief Recovery™ Specialist. In this podcast episode we cover: Why we experience grief The difference between grief and mourning All of the experiences that can cause grief in addition to the death of a loved one (and the list is longer than you might think) Practical steps you can take to work through your own grief and how to help someone else through theirs How to use tapping while using these steps This interview is a must-listen because every single one of us has experienced grief and will experience it again. Our conversation is practical and you will be able to use what you learn right away. Note: Here is the the feelings inventory from the Center For Nonviolent C

Emotions Are Not The Enemy (Pod #362)
08/05/2019 Duración: 20minSupport the podcast! One the most important ideas that I try to convey to all of my clients is the fact that emotions are not the enemy. Emotions are not a problem that we need to fix. Instead, our emotions can provide us with useful information about how we are interpreting what is happening to us in the moment. The aim of tapping is not to get rid of our emotions. Instead, we are working towards understanding why we are feeling those emotions, which in turn enables us to transform our understanding so that our emotions show up in a proportionate, well-informed way. Here is a tap-along audio and tapping script to help you to recognize your emotions for what they are and stop feeling like you are caught in a battle with your emotional state. This is a great way to tap by itself and it also serves as a perfect way to set up a tapping session when you are working on a bigger issue. Tapping Success Stories (Pod #361)
01/05/2019 Duración: 29minSupport the podcast! It is always encouraging to hear first-person success stories. Hearing about other people's success helps us in a couple of ways. First, it shows us what is possible. When we aren't making the progress we would like, and as quickly as we would like, it is easy to feel discouraged. Hearing about the success others have had gives us encouragement and inspiration. Second, other people's success stories offer us a great opportunity to learn. Hearing how they overcame obstacles and found their way to success gives us ideas on how we can do the same. In this week's podcast I have three stories of people who have used tapping successfully. This a great chance for all of us to learn and take encouragement! Over the next year I will be sharing more stories like these, so if you have your own stories about tapping you'd like to share, please let me know and I will follow up with you to see if it is a good fit. The Possibility of Healing Being More Than Just Relief (Pod #360)
24/04/2019 Duración: 18minSupport the podcast! Tapping is a powerful in helping us to find relief. It can reduce pain in the moment, it can diminish overpowering emotions, and it can even help us to see a problem more clearly. As wonderful as all of this is, I think we are missing half of the benefits that we can be getting from tapping by only focusing on the relief. What if it was possible for us to have more than relief with tapping? A few weeks ago at the Spring Energy Event I presented two tools which can me used to move not just from pain to relief but instead from pain to a feel or resource that is powerful. In this week's podcast I share with you one of those two tools. After you listen to the instruction all you will need to executes this simple but powerful tool is the following 5 steps. (And, yes, these instructions will make total sense after you listen to the audio.) Name the negative emotion that is being experienced Name the positive emotion would like to be experience Rate from -10 to +10 Do 3 rounds of tapping checki

Tapping for the Fear of Rejection (Pod #359)
17/04/2019 Duración: 25minSupport the podcast! In working with clients I have come to realize the most powerful fear that prevents us from taking action is the the fear that we are going to be rejected. The reason this fear is so powerful is because of our history as a species. Thousands of years ago, as humans, we were in the situation in which we needed our tribe to survive. Being in a tribe meant that we weren't facing the world alone and that we had others we could count on. Being pushed out of the tribe meant we have to the face the threats of the world alone and it most certainly meant death. Because of this history, when ever we feel like we are being rejected it stirs up this primitive fear. Since this is the case, the feeling of rejection on any level stops us in our track. This means that tapping on the fear of rejection is one of the most important types of tapping that we can do. This week I have for you three different tap-alongs that you can use to help you get past the fear of rejection. Tapping scripts for all three ta

Will Tapping On Negative Phrases Manifest Negative Outcomes? (Pod #358)
10/04/2019 Duración: 15minSupport the podcast! Because of all of the conversations around the law of attraction and manifesting in the self help community, I often hear the concern "I don't want to say any negative phrases when I am tapping because I'm worried I'll manifest negative outcomes in my life." Given the way that manifestation in this world view is taught, I can understand how this might be a concern. To help you understand how to get the most out of your tapping, this week's podcast covers: The scientific research on visualization What happens when we say only positive phrases when tapping How to get the most out of tapping to create change in your life I also teach you a bonus method that I use when I am trying to create a new way of acting and being in the world. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) vs. Tapping w/ Joan Kaylor, M.S.Ed., L.P.C., DCEP (Pod #357)
03/04/2019 Duración: 30minSupport the podcast! Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) focuses on challenging and changing thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems. That sounds a lot like what we are trying to do with tapping. This week I have a conversation with Joan Kaylor who uses both tapping and CBT with her clients. She compares and contrasts the two approaches, highlights where they overlap, and how one can inform the other. Understanding other modalities, tools, and techniques is a great way for us to improve the tools we are using. Subscribe in: Apple | Android | Spotify

Tapping To Magnify Celebration (Pod #355)
20/03/2019 Duración: 16minSupport the podcast! As Dr. Rick Henson shared with us back in Podcast 349, it is important that we spend time not just feeling positive emotions, but reveling in them. By doing this we can do more than enjoy feeling good in the moment, we can turn it into a habit for life. For most of us, including me, spending a lot of time feeling celebratory isn't the most natural experience. Celebration can feel embarrassing. It can feel boastful. It can even feel egotistical. This week we talk and tap about how celebration can make us feel uncomfortable AND tapping in the spirit of celebration. All the tapping scripts from this audio can be found below the audio player. Why Does Healing Always Have To Be A Process? (Pod #354)
13/03/2019 Duración: 20minSupport the podcast! Even though tapping is such a powerful tool, at times it feels as if it is just taking too long to get the results we want. In this week's podcast we are talking about: Why healing sometimes needs to happen as part of a process How to make the healing process as quick as possible (when it doesn't feel quick at all) How to deal with the frustration of slow transformation In the last step we will tap for the frustration around our healing not happening as fast as we would like, and why healing has to be process. How You See Yourself Can Stop Your Healing w/ Brad Yates (Pod #353)
06/03/2019 Duración: 40minSupport the podcast! In my conversation with Brad Yates he shared the Zig Ziglar quote “You cannot consistently perform in a manner which is inconsistent with the way you see yourself.” The reason this quote came up is because we were talking about why we don't get the results we want with tapping that we are seeking. Often times we tap because we want something to change in our life. But if we don't believe we are the type of person who can have the outcome we want, then we are going to sabotage ourselves to make sure we don't get it. For example: If we can't see ourselves as successful business owner then we are going to sabotage our business growth. If we don't believe we are worthy of love then finding lasting romantic relationships are going to be hard. If we think it is too late for change then finding time to do tapping isn't going to happen. In this conversation we talk about four ways in which we can find the beliefs about ourselves that are incongruent with what we want and how to tap for them. Su

EFT for Anxiety and Worry w/ Julie Schiffman (Pod #352)
27/02/2019 Duración: 33minSupport the podcast! Fear, worry, and anxiety are some of our most primitive emotions. Their main goal is to keep us safe and in some cases, alive. Because of their vital function, these emotions will override all our other emotions, ensuring that they are heard first. For the most part, this is a good thing and these emotions truly do keep us safe. Problems arise when our feelings of worry and anxiety are too intense for what is actually going on. In this week's podcast Julie Schiffman and I talk about how to figure out the root cause of our fear, and how to tap effectively for it. Subscribe in: Apple | Android | Spotify

EFT for Long-Term Transformation Practical Application (Pod #350)
13/02/2019 Duración: 28minSupport the podcast! In podcast #249 I talked to Rick Hanson about our three basic needs of safety, satisfaction, and connection. Most of the unconscious, subconscious, and conscious actions we make are motivated by one of these three needs. Tapping can be a powerful tool in helping us to make sure that we meet these needs in a healthy way. This week in the podcast I share with you how you can first, identify which one of these needs we are trying to meet and second, how to tap for each of these needs (because each need requires a different approach). If you didn't listen to the interview I did with Rick I would encourage to you to listen to it first before diving into the application. Subscribe in: Apple | Android | Spotify

EFT for Long-Term Transformation w/ Rick Hanson, Ph.D. (Pod #349)
06/02/2019 Duración: 44minSupport the podcast! When people are looking for long term results with tapping they commonly run into one of two problems. Either they are working on the wrong issue for their desired outcome OR they are only working on a symptom and not the root cause. If you are making either of these mistakes, chances are that you're not getting as much as you can out of your tapping practice. New York Times bestselling author Rich Hanson has done a masterful job in breaking down the types of problems in relation to our sense of safety, satisfaction, and connection. He has also developed a clear set of tools which can help us to bring about transformation and healing in each area. When we know the right issues and we are using the right tool, transformation comes more quickly and is much longer lasting. Subscribe in: Apple | Android | Spotify

Intention Based Tapping w/ Steve Wells (Pod #347)
23/01/2019 Duración: 34minSupport the podcast! One of the best parts about tapping is how easily it can be combined with other tools and modality. Recently, Steve Well has been working use the power of intention combined with tapping to get deeper healing and longer lasting results. In the case the idea of intention is about the outcome we want (for example "my intention is to be confident speaking in public") but instead holding specific intentions about the healing process. He calls his new approach Intention-based Energy Process (IEP) or Intention Tapping for short. In the conversation Steve shares how he came to use intention in this way as well as teaching you the entire process.
