Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. Tyler doesn’t think Sidney Crosby had any push in his agent mentioning a trade is always on the table. TK said Sid has way too much respect for the city and organization. Tyler thinks it’s a scary strategy to rebuild from the studs and he’s not sure if that is the smartest move by the Penguins. Chris asked about the relationship Crosby has with Evgeni Malkin and if Geno leaves, could that open up the door for Sid to do the same thing? If the Penguins are way out of the playoff race going into the trade deadline, will a move be made? TK said there is nothing worse than being on a losing team in the NHL.

The defense was shredded by the Jets and Justin Fields yesterday. The Jets had a makeshift offensive line and they had no issue pushing around the Steelers vaunted defense. Given how last season ended, you would have expected the defense to want to make a statement – they didn’t. $158M for a defense means the expectations are high for the entire game, not just the final few moments. Aaron Rodgers said that he was happy to beat everyone associated with the Jets. PFF had Dak Prescott and Matthew Stafford as their two highest graded QBs in week one. They also graded Aaron Rodgers as one of the worst QBs in week one. Rodgers had the same PFF grade as Broderick Jones, who allowed three sacks. Aaron Rodgers was outstanding in his Steelers’ debut. Steelers 34, Jets 32. The Steelers got their best quarterback play since 2018 as Aaron Rodgers threw for 4 TD passes without an interception. There were some warts, but it’s hard to be upset about the Steelers putting up 30+ points in a win – something we haven’t seen much of in the last 5 years or since Ben Roethlisberger was the QB.
