Hour 4: Are the Steelers going to throw us a curveball at 20th overall? Brian Thomas Jr. has been mocked to the Steelers in two very recent national mock drafts. Could they be going with a WR earlier than everyone else anticipates? Is this a smokescreen by the Steelers like we’ve seen them pull the last few years? If they do throw us a curve, Poni thinks it will be a corner and not a receiver. If it is a corner, which one would it be?  Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray talked about some guys who have been late risers in the NFL Draft process. Does Ray think the Steelers will stand pat or trade down and accumulate more capital? He talked about guys that visit the facility from the west coast and why those have a little bit more meaning. Ray doesn’t think the Steelers are locked into a singular position and could go multiple directions at 20th overall. The guys asked Ray about guys the Steelers could be looking at in the middle rounds next weekend.  Total Request Thursday.

Hour 3: Which names are leading the way to be the Steelers pick at 20th overall. The two biggest – Amarius Mims and Graham Barton. One scout thinks Mims could be the biggest bust of the draft. Should we be worried about the lack of experience Mims has in his college career? Do you trust the Steelers to get the most out of him? Should defensive line be more of a priority on their list? What about corner and receiver?  Steve Palazzolo from Pro Football Focus joined the show. Steve said if he was in control, he would make the trade for Brandon Aiyuk even if it meant parting with the 20th overall pick. Should the Steelers have their eyes on Courtland Sutton as someone who may be available and had success with Russell Wilson in Denver? Steve said he doesn’t love this year’s draft class beyond the first 35 or so players. Steve said he isn’t worried about a center’s height and a lineman being labeled “too tall” is a little odd. Hour 2: We heard audio from Mike Sullivan following the Penguins season finale.  KDKA TV legend Bob Pompeani joined the show. Bob is still trying to track down Neal Shipley, which left the guys asking if Pomp can hang with him on the golf course. The guys threw some hockey questions at Bob on how he would handle the off-season. Pomp thinks the power play was by far the big reason why this team was left out of the playoffs for the second straight season. Bob thinks Mike Sullivan is still the right guy for the job, but multiple personnel moves need to be made. Bob doesn’t think Tristan Jarry is a big-game goalie and wondered what the trade market would look like for him. What does the future look like for Sidney Crosby? What do the Penguins do at goalie? The guys asked Steve about Olu Fashanu, the star tackle that could drop all the way to 20th overall after being a highly rated prospect the last two years. Steve thinks Fashanu is the best pass blocker in the draft. It seems like some believe Hunter Nourzad is gaining steam and as a center it comes at a position of need – what does Steve think of him transitioning to the NFL?

Hour 4: The Pirates were swept by the Mets and a glaring moment from the series was the pulling of Jared Jones after 5 innings of last night’s loss even though he allowed just one hit to that point and had only thrown 59 pitches. Where do we stand on this? Should it be a pitch-count thing or an innings limit thing? Chris pointed out that Jones isn’t great when he is going through the opposing order for the third time.  93.7 The Fan Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn joined the show. Jeff talked about all of the draft simulations he is running through and who the Steelers could take in the 1st round. Jeff thinks Tyler Guyton from Oklahoma is an intriguing case. Are the Steelers done at QB? The guys asked Jeff about what Aditi said about the position and if the Steelers would take a flier on a guy in the middle rounds.  We heard audio from Sidney Crosby ahead of the Penguins final game of the season tonight against the Islanders.

The guys asked Jeff about what Aditi said about the position and if the Steelers would take a flier on a guy in the middle rounds.

It seems like some of the Pirates’ issues are coming home to roost and they showed their warts in this series. There seems to be an injury to Ke’Bryan Hayes and there are other issues looming up and down the lineup. Plus, what happened to this bullpen? They blew all 3 games of the series.  Aditi Kinhabwala from the NFL on CBS joined the show. Aditi commented on Bill Belichick not being a true finalist for any open head coaching jobs this off-season. She got into how much Belichick loves Halloween and how he is more open of a human that he lets on.
