Pirates insider Noah Hiles from the PG joined the show. Noah is not getting the sense that the Pirates are pursuing an extension with Paul Skenes right now. How much do the circumstances matter? Would it be different if the Pirates were really trying to win instead of what their offseason plan was? Noah brought up the military background for Skenes. Chris wanted a tour of what happened at Coors Field on Friday night.

We started with a conversation we had with Dan Zangrilli yesterday that had us thinking – will the Pirates truly try to sign Paul Skenes to an extension? Poni thinks there is actually an avenue to it happening, but Chris isn’t seeing it. It’s hard to imagine Skenes wanting to be here any longer than he has to be. If it’s a 5-year deal, will he be here for the full 5? With how baseball is now, is it logical to think Skenes would sign a deal here?

Is Broderick Jones really struggling to the level that we are all hearing? Jeff doesn’t think a Terry McLaurin trade is likely, but he said it is hard calling anything is impossible under Omar Khan. Is Will Howard the most-hyped 6th round pick of all-time? Jeff said the offense has been a little concerning, but the offensive line has only been fully together for one day of padded practices.

Mason Rudolph says that Aaron Rodgers has forgotten more football than most people will ever know. Rudolph has gone from talking himself up to now talking Aaron Rodgers up. Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from The Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Mark doesn’t believe that Mullsy made 9 straight threes in a pickup game. The guys bring up Mark’s controversial comment on the Mcafee show about throwing toilet paper away. Mark said they were just wipes. Mark says it is very unlikely that the Steelers would trade for Terry Mclaurin. Apparently, the Steelers have the second best odds to trade for Micah Parsons. Mullsy dropped the Pirates deadline grade to an F. Poni thinks the Ke’Bryan Hayes trade was the Pirates only good decision. He gives it a B+. Tommy Pham has been one of the best hitters in baseball the last couple of months, and the Pirates somehow didn’t trade him. An insider says he is done with the Pirates because they care more about finances than winning. MLB writer Travis Sawchik from Driveline Baseball joined the show. Rafael Flores is ranked below Nick Yorke in the Pirates top 30 prospects. Sawchik says the Pirates went against the league consensus with the return in the Bednar trade. He also says that Fangraphs projects that Flores would have an 86 WRC+ if he came up today, which is a problem because he might not be a catcher. He also says that if he were to get traded it would take two first rounders and a $45 million deal. Mike says that Parsons lost all of his leverage because he actually showed up. Mike thinks that Buffalo makes the most sense to send a deal for Parsons. He thinks that the Terry Mclaurin trade request is just an effort to get the Commanders to pay him. Florio says that people should be skeptical of anything ESPN reports about the NFL as a whole.
