The Steelers were coming off 2 very disappointing defensive performances that had a lot of people rolling out on them before they responded in a big way yesterday. Poni said it’s a different NFL today than it was going into the action yesterday – and that is reason for some optimism. Did TJ Watt have a ‘great’ game yesterday? Poni says that he’s impressed by the way that Aaron Rodgers will criticize himself and the offense, even after wins. The Steelers spread out the offense more than they usually do yesterday, and Calvin Austin took advantage. Aaron Rodgers was likely unhappy with Roman Wilson’s fumble in the fourth quarter. Mullsy was not a fan of the offense’s performance yesterday, as they averaged under 4 yards per play.

VICTORY MONDAY. The Steelers beat the Colts, who came into the game 7-1 on the season. A bludgeoning did take place, but it was the Steelers laying the lumber to the best offense in football. The Steelers forced 6 turnovers, including one on special teams, in the win. Is this something they can count on every week? Some people are coming out of the game not feeling great after a pretty comfy win against a good team. In this next 5-game stretch for both teams, Donny thinks the Ravens go 5-0 (taking them to 7-5) and the Steelers go 2-3 (taking them to 6-6). Would make for a fun finish to the season, but the Ravens will have taken over 1st place in the AFC North. Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray said he hasn’t had much time to dig in on why Darius Slay missed practice today due to ‘personal reasons,’ but thinks we could very well see his snaps go down on Sunday afternoon. Why do the Steelers have so many issues with communication on defense? Ray helped the guys break the tie when it came to defensive play calling conspiracy theories – it sounds like Mike Tomlin has the ultimate control and will call plays on the ‘weighty downs,’ but Teryl Austin still relays most of the plays.
