Former MLB pitcher Matt Clement joined the show. Matt came hot out of the gate talking Pirates free agency, saying his first call would be to JT Realmuto and that they should offer him a 3-year deal. Matt didn’t put any blame on Isiah Kiner-Falefa for his baserunning gaffe in Game 7. He added thoughts on some of the other events in the game. How much did he enjoy the final game of the season?

Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. The Penguins have made a plethora of moves, including the promotion of Sergei Murashov, who could be the goaltender of the future. TK said if this kid has great early returns, it creates a ‘good, tough’ decision for the Penguins when Tristan Jarry is healthy. He suggested the team putting Jarry on waivers if Murashov shows out. Tyler said it will be a tough transition in terms of crowd noise and attendance, as well as the uptick in the pace of play. He will likely get his first action against Alex Ovechkin, the greatest goal scorer of all-time. The guys asked Tyler about the collapse in Toronto the other night when the Penguins held a 3-0 lead after 2 periods.

We continued to react to the Steelers standing pat at the trade deadline. Poni had a gripe with the people who cover the team, many of which are on our airwaves. Almost all of them lauded the team for not making a single move yesterday, giving the team an A+ for their work. Poni believes the same people would have given the team the same grade if they had made moves.

The Steelers were coming off 2 very disappointing defensive performances that had a lot of people rolling out on them before they responded in a big way yesterday. Poni said it’s a different NFL today than it was going into the action yesterday – and that is reason for some optimism. Did TJ Watt have a ‘great’ game yesterday? The Steelers just signed Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Aaron Rodgers called him a “special guy”. The Steelers also just cut Beanie Bishop. The NFL Trade Deadline is tomorrow at 4:00 PM. George Pickens has been outstanding in Dallas, could he be on the move? Will the Steelers have MVS or Austin higher on the depth chart. What does the MVS signing mean for Roman Wilson? Poni says that he’s impressed by the way that Aaron Rodgers will criticize himself and the offense, even after wins. The Steelers spread out the offense more than they usually do yesterday, and Calvin Austin took advantage. Aaron Rodgers was likely unhappy with Roman Wilson’s fumble in the fourth quarter. Mullsy was not a fan of the offense’s performance yesterday, as they averaged under 4 yards per play. Callers voice their opinions on the game yesterday. VICTORY MONDAY. The Steelers beat the Colts, who came into the game 7-1 on the season. A bludgeoning did take place, but it was the Steelers laying the lumber to the best offense in football. The Steelers forced 6 turnovers, including one on special teams, in the win. Is this something they can count on every week? Some people are coming out of the game not feeling great after a pretty comfy win against a good team. Poni isn’t ready to crown them as AFC North champs again, but gravity around the league is hovering closer to .500 after Sunday. Did yesterday’s game do anything for your optimism?
