Jesus told Mary Magdalene not to cling to Him, because He had not yet ascended to the Father. While we rightfully celebrate Christ's resurrection from the dead, we almost completely ignore His ascension into heaven. Both are important parts of God's plan for our salvation.

Jesus entered Jerusalem the way a conquering general would. But the entry was not the triumph. It just set the stage for the other events of Holy Week.

Jesus summed up the entire Law of Moses with just two commandments: To love God will all your heart, soul, mind and strength and your neighbor as yourself. Today we look at the second of Jesus' two Great Commandments.

Our study of the Ten Commandments would not be complete if we ignored Jesus' two great commandments. The first is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

God saved the best- or worst- for last. The Tenth Commandment, unlike the first nine, does not deal with actions or behaviors. It prohibits an attitude. Covetousness is the seed for sin in our lives

The ninth commandment forbids us to testify falsely about our neighbors.

Stealing is taking what's not yours. We may try to rationalize it, but stealing is stealing!

God gave us marriage and sex as good gifts. We must use them as directed in His Word

God made us in His image, and to murder a fellow human being is heinous in His sight.

God doesn't command us to love our parents.. But He does command us to honor them, to show them the respect due them.

God set one day in seven apart as holy, not just for His glory but also for our blessing.

The great God of the universe, who tells us His name is I AM, will not tolerate misuse of that name.

The first commandment forbids worshipping any other god. The second prohibits us from worshipping the true God in false ways.

Are the Ten Commandments relevant for twenty-first century Christians? Yes! While we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, God's Law teaches us so much. This is the first of a series on the Ten Commandments.
