War rages in heaven between Satan and his demons and God's forces. led by the angel Michael. Satan loses and is kicked out of heaven. he vents his anger against God's people.

The seventh trumpet, the last in the whole Bible, announces Christ's eternal reign over all the earth. This passage is an ending in the middle, giving us a brief picture of Christ's return and reign.

The church at the end of the first century suffered unimaginable persecution. Jesus continues to encourage them to overcome through His Revelation.

Fathers have a vital role in their children's lives. Dads must be careful to build up and not tear them down.

The Lord calls on us to pray for those in authority over us. It doesn't matter if we like or agree with the official.

John was told to eat a little scroll. It tasted sweet in his mouth but became bitter in his stomach. The Bible is both sweet and sour. It comforts us, and it afflicts us. Through it all God shapes us.

Rizpah's life was messy. She was far from a typical mother. On this Mother's Day it's only right that we should honor the mothers who don't fit the 50s sitcom stereotype. God loves messy people!

The seventh seal reveals seven trumpets. As with the seals, each trumpet precedes God's judgment on a disobedient world.

Despite the frightening judgments God inflicted on the earth, the people refused to abandon their idolatry and repent.

The heaven that John saw was a noisy place, where the saints and angels praise God non-stop. Yet heaven went silent for a brief period, while God heard the prayers of His people.

The second half of Revelation 7 tells us about the great multitude from every tribe, tongue and nation dressed in white and standing before God's throne. They are the beneficiaries of Christ's resurrection. They celebrate Easter in heaven!

The crowds welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem waving palm branches. The saints in heaven also worship the Lamb with palms. Revelation gives us the pattern of worship in heaven, which guides us as we worship on earth.

The Lamb begins to open the seals on the scroll. The gentle Lamb that was slain now inflicts God's wrath on an evil world. The insert I reference is attached to the sermon.

The Lamb that was slain is worthy to open the scroll He took from the Father's hand. He is worthy to receive all glory and honor, for He has redeemed us!

John is invited into heaven, where he sees God on His throne and experiences the worship He receives constantly.

Jesus addressed His last letter to the Church at Laodicea. He said that they were lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, and that He would spit them out. Yet, despite His anger, He loved these room temperature Christians and called them to repentance.

Jesus commended the church at Philadelphia for their faithfulness in the face of severe persecution. Even though they have little strength, Jesus has opened a door for them that no one can shut.

The church at Sardis looked great from the outside. It was active and full of life. But Jesus said that the church was dead! Jesus looks past the outside to see our hearts and to try our thoughts.

Jesus told the church at Thyatira that His eyes, that burn like fire, see everything. He warned against partaking in the immorality and idolatry of the age and called for them to stand firm in Him.

The Church at Pergamum stood firm in the face of persecution. When Satan could not destroy the church in this way he changed tactics. He sent false teachers into their midst to undo their faith. Jesus gave them a stern warning and tremendous promises.
