Throughout our ministry year, we are focusing on our three key priorities, "Right Relationship - With God, With One Another and With Our Neighbour." Today we begin our focus on being in right relationship with our neighbour as we explore God's heart for the neighbourhood outside the boundaries of "His people".

  • Spirit-Empowered Self-Control

    02/04/2017

During this year, we are focusing on what it means to be in "right relationship with one another." Paul's description of the "fruit of the Spirit" (Gal. 5:22-23) offers a powerful vision of what Christian community can look like. Today we come to the fruit of "self-control," which is often associated with trying harder to be more disciplined, often so that we can more effectively accomplish our own goals.

  • The Truly Good Life

    26/02/2017

  • Peace Rooted in the "Jesus-Story"

    05/02/2017

Today, we look at the fruit of "peace." The letter Paul wrote to the church in Philippi contains several allusions to a lack of relational peace. Paul's appeal to these people addresses the root of their conflict and points to Jesus' example as the true source of peace (2:1-9). We can summarize Paul's direction this way.

  • Finding Joy in What God Has Given

    01/02/2017

Today, we look at the fruit of "joy". In the Psalms, we read of David's loss of joy that occurred as a result of sin that occurred in a very relational context (Psalm 32, 51). These Psalms take us back to the story of David and Bathsheba and how David got into the mess he did by trying to make his own joy.

  • Walking With God Into The New Year

    03/01/2017

As we enter into a new year, we can do so with confidence that history is not random. Mary's song of praise (Luke 1:46-55) clearly recognizes God's sovereign grace. History is moving toward God's purposes and He graciously reaches down to each of us, inviting us to walk with him.
