It's So Bad

This week on the podcast, before the MCU there was MUA: It's Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Drawing from their experience on from making X-Men Legends, the team decided to expand the idea by adding all your favorite Marvel superheroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and so much more. This week on the podcast we added our 24th film to the list of video game movies: It's Dragon Quest: Your Story on the podcast. This fantasy romp tells the story mainly of Dragon Quest V which is a much beloved entry in the franchise. It was distributed in the US by Netflix for some reason when it was released in 2019. ANOTHER arcade classic from 1982 is added to the list this week, it's Moon Patrol! You're a space buggy. You must defeat evil space pirates, rocks and jump over gaping holes in the ground. Have we run out of games? Did we really have to add an unreleased video game to the Endless List? Hell yes is the answer my friends. We are adding this week the unreleased NES game made in conjunction (maybe?) with Reebok: It's Drac's Night Out. This indie game came out in 2013 from Klei Entertainment and has been very well supported since it's release. Riding the crafting wave from Minecraft, this survival game does everything a survival game does: obscure mechanics! revealing gameplay through player action! and much more! This week on the podcast, we take a look at what is known as one of the best of all-time platformers: It's Donkey Kong Country. This game released in 1994 has you taking the role of Donkey Kong and trying to get your banana horde back from the evil Kremlings. Why are they evil? I didn't write this game but they also kidnapped Diddy Kong, your little buddy. Rare certainly did deliver a classic in this one. But where did it land on the list? This week on the podcast, we're adding our 22nd movie to the list of movies based on video game properties, it's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Angelina Jolie, Daniel Craig, the guy who played Jorah Mormont, the guy who lopped off Jaime Lannister's hand and one of the guys from Red Dwarf star in this action movie. Released originally in 1991 in Japan, this game basically perfected what Nintendo introduced in the original Legend of Zelda and added a ton of features to improve/add depth to the experience. Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson is a loner and someone who loves Gorillas in this kaiju movie about a giant alligator, albino gorilla and a wolf. Lizzie is MIA for half the movie, George is underpowered and Ralph is OP as this blockbuster cast including the Rock, Noamie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jake Lacey and Joe Manganiello take on big boy animals in a fight to the death. This week on the podcast, we're starting off a run we're calling Oops All Bangers! as we add Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to the list. This has been a game we've thought about doing since the very start of the podcast and we're finally adding it to the list. You play as an amnesiac who is trying to figure out their own path through a universe torn apart by a war between the Republic and the Sith, a mysterious dark faction who rose up during the Mandalorian Wars. The story is notable for it's choice based progression system, it's great story and unique combat. It would go on to influence a wide array of video games, but where did it land on our list?
