Another great recommendation for this weels choice and we both loved watching it. It was a movie that told a touching story about growth love and loss that spans the years of a couple of individuals. 1 that lives for hundreds of years and a normal human raised by her. This week talk about the Combatants Will BE Dispatched! which was a recommendation from Ace and CJ from Anime Anonymous Podcast. Check out the episode link below! This week's choice was a fun one for us. Though it did get a little weird at times it was still a good show to watch. If you have seen KonoSuba you are likely to enjoy this. There is one bugaboo though. There is 1 character that just rubs us the wrong way (the other characters in the show too felt the same way.) We talk about a Bubble this week and it was an interesting one. It was interesting in that had a different spin on The little mermaid. This has been a theme for a couple of the movies that we watched. But it was still unique in its telling of the story. This week we talk about The Big O part 1 and it was certainly a hell of a ride for us. There were a lot of ups, downs, and forgetting for this one. The story was heavily reminiscent of Batman and other anime that were there to the point where it just felt like a carbon copy of them. But in terms of enjoyment, they were split this week on how it was and their feelings on it. But luckily there is a part 2 and that will be next week's choice. This we talk about My Love Story, and no we do not mean one of ours but the anime called that. It's a fun little show that is easy to get through that has some funny moments that we think everyone will like. With it following Takoe, Yamato and Suna this story is one of growth and laughter. This week was a touching choice with a sweet but sad story. One of the major things that this story does is that it tells you the end result in the beginning. This is all about the journey to that point and the lessons that can be learned from it. We talk a lot about Myuu in this week's choice but that doesn't even scratch the surface of what this anime has in store but it is the main topic of discussion for us today. Overall, the show is solid and it fills in a lot of background and helps advance the story in a solid manner. But not only that Rick is able to get Jack to change his score from their discussion. Well, this was an interesting choice for us. And it was one that we did not really enjoy largely due to the main character being how they were. The artwork was good but that honestly was about it for us. The story was lacking, the character development was not there and everything about it had us questioning the actions and reasoning behind the characters and the story for them did not make us like any of the characters in honesty. We get emotionally damaged in this week's choice with a great story that hit on so many aspects. We lightly touch on some of our own experiences, but we can help but get a little deep with the story. It largely picks up where it left off and the story gives it a nice solid conclusion. It is a movie that is truly worth the watch and if you have not seen the series you need to watch that first especially since it plays off of a couple of episodes for it. This week's choice was an interesting one. The story was largely really good. It left them with some questions but overall it was not bad and decent. The music was great and was not out of place when it was playing and the artwork was pretty solid in general for it. It does a good job of only really giving you the information that you need and leading the story in a decent direction. It is worth the watch. This week was certainly an interesting one. And it was not one that we really enjoyed. The story was lacking substance. The animation style also gave it an older feel than what it actually has which for us at the time of recording was only 10 years old. Which does not boast well for the show's long run. The plot, or lack thereof, really does it no justice as well and we honestly just are left with more questions and bewilderment than anything else. We do a lot of exploring and trying to understand what is going on in this show. It is technically 1 season with an OVA but it all came out as a normal 1 season. We also try to understand what is happening in this show and how to decode what is happening in genal. But all in all, it was a decent show even though Jack and Rick were split on their scores. With it following 3 main characters for the first half of the series and then killing 1 off halfway through it kinda leaves you with an empty feeling. Regardless though it is one that you might enjoy and should watch when you have nothing else to watch. This week we talk about a short film called The Garden of Words, even though there were not very many words spoken in that garden the movie was still a pleasure to look at even if the story was lacking. But in terms of scoring Jack and Rick are split on this a little more than usual. Jack was not impressed with the story and did not have a need to drive to want to watch it again. This week we were cringing pretty hard at this one. The main character was one that we both could not like and did not create an enjoyable watching experience for us. With all his faults though there were a couple of redeeming qualities, but those were far and few in-between. What is true strength? And what is it that you truly need to attain it? This story touches on that and with the visuals, great storytelling, and visuals you are led through on a child's journey through life as they try to figure it out. They travel to a parallel world and are trained in how to fight and hone their body and mind. But they later try to strengthen their mind back in their world. This week we go Viking and travel with pirates, and we really dive deep into the meaning and actions of 1 character that dies early in the show. Thors we take 1 scene and go deep into discussion and try to share our viewpoints on that that where we think we are right and the other is wrong. But regardless this show is great and worth the watch and time to put into it.
