This week's choice was a great one. And it was one that Jack's wife lived as well. The artwork was on point the music was on point and the story flowed effortlessly. You have the great makings of a story and it is delivered with flying colors. That being said, if you are looking for the usually magical and fantasy world that you have come to expect from Ghibli then this will disappoint you this is a movie that is more so grounded in reality so the expectation should be of that and nothing more. This week we travel back through time with a picture to gather some information. And like this show things don't always go as planned. With that being said the story is lacking and you are in a state of just being. Towards the end of the show they introduce a new element to it all which interrupts the flow of it along with the time traveling aspect of it just makes it feel of. We Talk about a mystery of a show on why people thought it was good. It was a slow show that made no sense at all. The music selection was bad the story did not make sense and it was not worth the time to even watch it for us. This week is a solid choice and one that we both enjoyed. It was an enjoyable and easy to watch show. While it does mainly focus on the relationship of Hori and Miyamura it does give all the other characters that they focus on their justice and own development. Making it a very well rounded story. And while it does not shine in any particular area it does not lack either. It is one that we will be watching again and it is worth the watch if you have not seen it already. We talk about a double recommendation that we received and we honestly both really enjoyed it. We talk about a solid and delightful story. But even with the story not going off into the weeds, we do a few times for various reasons. But even with that it just speaks to how we felt about the story and the enjoyment that we got from it. The Story is solid and the ecchi for it rather than being overdone or tasteless was done in a way that made it a driving force, in a good way, for the show and the character development. It is a solid movie that tells what it was like for one family in Japan in the years leading up to and the conclusion of World War II. This week we have a special Guest CJ from Anime Anonymous to help fill in while Rick is out. And with this choice that was for this week's episode, we do not envy him in that it was a rough movie to get through. The movie is almost 2 hours long but it felt like a lifetime had passed while we watched. It was a Sub-par movie with a sub-par story and it just did not have great animation in it at all. This week we dive into an interesting love story. It feels like it could be tied into the other series entirely but at the same time because it is different enough it should not fit. But the biggest thing for us on this one is that we feel it was not given the justice it deserved for the animation. It should in our opinion be better than what it was. We talk about book girl and honestly, for us it was not that great of a movie. There were many faults with it, the animation was not good and it felt lacking, and with us it just did not feel like a great movie. We Get lost in the weeds. and journey to the center of the earth to find our answers and even then we are still left with questions. But we did have fun with the story and trying to figure it out. What a great choice by CJ and we thank him for the great recommendation. The story was solid and enjoyable. The contrast in animation style. The art and music for it were all done beautifully. The deeper meanings behind everything for us and the sub-story that was going with growth were well done. It is certainly a movie that we highly recommend. This week came at the recommendation of Old Jeb and it was a cute easy watch but we were left with so many questions. With the anime still being so new at the time of recording, we can only hope that there will be a season 2. It was another recommendation from Angel from Chile. But this time it was not as great as the other ones that were recommended but it still was a solid choice. The story was solid especially since it was adapted from a 1950s children's book.
