  • Back to the Future Part III (1990) | Movie Review | Final in Back to the Futue Movie Review Series

    03/02/2020 Duración: 01h11min

Audiences were aggravated in 1989 when Back to the Future Part II ended on cliff-hanger. Well, they didn't have to wait long--only 6 months--to see how Marty and Doc, once again, got back to the future. What is easily the most kid-friendly entry in the series doesn't necessarily mean it's the worst. Third time's the charm it seems, because this finale is considered by most to be the second best installment in the franchise! Does this conclusion to the trilogy get Corbin and Allen to hop in the Delorean to time travel back for more or is this one 30 years too late? Join Corbin and Allen one last time as they travel back to the future (or the past) to find out! Join the discussion-Comment below! • Back to the Future Part II (1989) | Movie Review | Second in Back to the Futue Movie Review Series

    27/01/2020 Duración: 01h15min

4 years after Doc and Marty struck lightning, igniting nostalgia for the 50's and excitement for the future--the duo travel back to the future in order to save Marty's kids and then unexpectedly back to the past to save their entire existence as they know it! Not unexpectedly, this highly anticipated sequel was a massive success with audiences, although critics were bit more tepid on it. Now that we've gone farther into the future than Doc and Marty ever had, does this cartoony, convoluted sequel live up as a worthy successor to the original or is it best left in the past? 13/01/2020 Duración: 52min

29 years after the now cult-hit Jacob's Ladder terrorized audience's dreams--the film receives a new interpretation that draws upon familiar elements but goes in wildly new directions. This remake was supposed to hit cinemas early 2019 but got relegated to a home video release at the tail end of the year. • National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) | Third Annual Christmas Special | Movie Review

    25/12/2019 Duración: 01h02min

Merry Christmas listeners! 30 years ago, in 1989, right before the start of a new and final decade for the 20th century, moviegoers got a treat that Christmas season as they went with America's favorite family, the Griswolds, on Christmas vacation. Written by the prolific John Hughes (who wrote Home Alone one year later) and starring the hilarious Chevy Chase plus an all-star cast--Christmas Vacation has become ingrained in our cultural zeitgeist as a ridiculous but all-too-realistic portrait of families getting together for the Christmas holiday. • Glass (2019) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Thirteenth Film

    16/12/2019 Duración: 01h12min

2 years after Shyamalan's most successful film since The Sixth Sense, Glass promised to conclude the secret superhero trilogy started nearly 20 years ago. With Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson reprising their roles, and, of course, James McAvoy returning as "The Beast" this film looked to be one heck of a showdown. But did the film deliver the reinvigorated Shyamalan hype its predecessor promised? Join Corbin and Allen as they review Glass to find out! Join the discussion-Comment below! • Split (2017) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Twelfth Film

    09/12/2019 Duración: 01h09min

Capitalizing off his surprise success with The Visit, Shyamalan took audiences by storm with his knockout comeback, Split. Considered Shyamalan's second greatest film, right behind The Sixth Sense, 18 years later and his career is back on the rise. With all-star performances--which in Corbin's opinion should've garnered some Oscar nods (including a few for Shyamalan himself)--Split is a film not to be reckoned with. And who saw THIS Shyamalan twist coming?! But! Are Corbin and Allen split over their views on the film? Join Corbin and Allen to find out as they review Split! Join the discussion-Comment below! • The Visit (2015) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Eleventh Film

    02/12/2019 Duración: 01h02min

2 years after what many consider to be Shyamalan's most boring film--he returned to what put him on the map in the first place--horror. Providing his own stamp on the waning 'found footage' genre, Shyamalan pulled off the impossible by making a highly successful movie; not simply financially but also critically. What many consider to be Shyamalan's comeback, The Visit put the director back in moviegoers good graces. But now that the found footage fad is dead, does this film still provide enough scares, drama, and twists to be consider one of the director's best? • After Earth (2013) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Tenth Film

    25/11/2019 Duración: 55min

With his last film considered his worst to-date--Shyamalan had no where to go but up...so, he chose to go to the stars. Taking an unexpected three year break from filmmaking, Shyamalan returned with a wholly original story within the science-fiction genre. Tapping A-list star Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith--he pairs the duo as father and son on a desperate mission gone awry 1,000 years after humans have abandoned Earth. Surprise, audiences and critics consider this to be his second worst film! But what do Corbin and Allen think? Their ratings my surprise you! • Avatar: The Last Airbender (2010) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Ninth Film

    18/11/2019 Duración: 01h04min

2 years after Shyamalan's atomic bomb at the box office and with critics/audiences--he decided to go big or go home. Taking on one of the greatest, and at the time, most popular TV properties of all time--the once acclaimed director set his sights on bringing a live action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender to the big screen. Banking on a runaway success trilogy--Shayamalan had the backing of some of the biggest producers in Hollywood such as Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. Opening on the United State's biggest holiday weekend--July 4th--there was a lot riding on Shyamalan's career. With a tepid opening weekend morsel of $40 million and a devastating 5% approval from Rotten Tomatoes (compared with the TV show's 100%)--no sixth sense could've seen this coming. Nearly 10 years later is the film really that awful or is it in fact a fun fantasy film with impressive CGI? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss Avatar: The Last Airbender to find out! • The Happening (2008) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Eighth Film

    11/11/2019 Duración: 01h18min

2 years after Shyamalan's reality bending modern-day fairy-tale flopped with audiences and critics alike--he decided to return to his thriller roots--this time to put his own spin on a 1950's sci-fi flick. Not only did he return to form but he also ventured into R rated territory making this his one and only, no children under 17 film. Touting an all-star cast headlined by Mark Wahlberg and Zoey Deschanel this promised to be Shyamalan's bounce back into commercial acclaim...except it wasn't. Considered one of the worst films of all time--this sunk the Academy Award nominated director even lower among peers and fans. But that was 11 years ago. Has The Happening actually aged well and could this be a forgotten hair-raising piece of horror? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss The Happening to find out! Join the discussion! • Lady in the Water (2006) | Movie Review | M Night Shyamalan's Seventh Film

    04/11/2019 Duración: 01h02min

2 years after his moderately successful quasi-period piece, The Village, the seemingly unstoppable master of thrills turns his previous plot on its head. Blending fairy tales with reality--Shyamalan attempts mythical world-building with an all star cast. At the time of the release of the film it was critically panned and many consider this to be the beginning of the end for Shyamalan (until his new beginning). I, for one, being merely 11 years old, was frightened of the trailers and wanted no part in seeing this film. 13 years have passed since then so is this the scary movie Corbin thought it was or is this actually a film gaining more prominence in the director's oeuvre as time goes on? • Black Christmas (1974) | Movie Review | Fourth Annual Halloween Special (2019)

    31/10/2019 Duración: 01h16min

Happy Halloween listeners! In 1974--4 years before John Carpenter's classic Halloween--Bob Clark (yes, the Bob Clark who made A Christmas Story), brought audiences a terrifying vision that put them into the viewpoint of the murderer. One Christmas night, a madman murders a group of sorority sisters one by one unbeknownst to them inside their own house. While Black Christmas never achieved as strong acclaim as Halloween, this cult classic deserves to be viewed by all horror fans, especially this Halloween. 7 years after the long awaited capstone to the beloved Men in Black trilogy--the franchise is receiving a fresh reboot! Gone are Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith--now Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Liam Neeson don the black suits and tote the nueralizers for a fresh alien adventure. Being critically panned by audiences and critics, underperforming at the US box office and barely making a profit world-wide is this the actual end for the men...and women in black?
