On this Episode, Joseph Izzi tells us about finding OCR . He recently placed 2nd in his first Elite race at Spartan Fayetteville , N.C. Ultra, and we discuss how that race went. Joseph’s very first Ultra was at the 2019 Killington, V.T.  race, and we talk about preparing for Killington this year as well! If you’re planning an Ultra you should check this one out!

On this Episode , Emma Cook Clarke tells us about coming from an accomplished cross country background ,and transitioning to OCR. Emma is part of Nicole Mericle's  OCR Dream Team - a community of female Athletes who are looking to elevate their participation in the sport. Emma's first race ever was this past weekend's USNS race in Asheville , NC. at the Tryon Equestrian Center. She tells us step by step how the race goes, and after failing a few obstacles still manages to place 5th! I feel like she had a great first race, and will be someone to watch for in the future.

On this Episode, Dustin Needham and I talk about all things OCR.  We talk about the Utah Beast race last weekend, and some other races as well. He started running Open; then Age group, and is now competing in the Elite wave. We talk about how he is using Kirk DeWindt for a Coach, and how he has gotten better by with using him. Great interview with someone who loves the sport! 

On this Episode , Dixie Bonner, who is a Yancy Camp Athlete, tells us about working her way through races to get to her first few Elite podiums. This past weekend Dixie placed 1st place in the Palmerton, PA. Super, and placed 3rd in the Sprint. She also tells us about her 1st place finish at Charlotte Sprint earlier in the year. She is definitely someone to watch out for in the future!

 On this Episode, Erin Sondej tells us about finding OCR, becoming a  member of the Spartan Proteam, and how she crushed this Fayetteville Trifecta weekend- taking the podium in all 3 races! Erin started out doing awesome in AG races, then made the jump to Elite, and has been doing really well ever since! Someone you definitely want to watch out for in 2021!

On this Episode, Michael Strobel talks with me about getting into OCR, and how he is crushing the AG races at Spartan. He just recently placed 1st in his AG in all three races at the Ohio Trifecta weekend , and placed 2nd at the 2019 West Virginia National Championship Race as well. Michael tells us about how hard he is training, and how he is looking forward to doing some Elite heats this year too. Michael has ran a lot of races, and has some good stories to share. You can tell he is passionate about the sport, and this is an interview you don't want to miss.

On this Episode, Noelle Colbert tells us about finishing her first 100 mile ultra at The Endurance Society's, Infinitus Event. The Infinitus is an event that last over a couple of weeks with race distances anywhere from 8 miles to an 888k , with solo and team races. Noelle along with Zack Wiz , and Toni Canora, all finished their first 100 miler together at this event. Noelle tells us about her entire race experience, and if you've ever thought about doing a longer distance race out of your comfort zone , you definitely want to check this Episode out.

On this Episode, Mike Deibler from the OCR Underground podcast , tells us about his newly released book, that focuses on training for OCR. We touch base on several chapters from the book and as always we talk about past races, and other topics as well.

On this Episode, Josh Chace tells us about his history in OCR, some of the older races he has done, and his Age Group podium finish at Savage Race Maryland. Josh is on Obstacle Racing Media's Show, "Discourse with Davis and Chace", where he and Matt B. Davis talk about OCR, and a lot of other topics as well. If you're not already listening to that show, you need to check it out! It's one of my favorites. 

On this Episode, Miguel Medina tells us all about crushing the Montana Spartan Ultra this past weekend. We talk about his strategy leading up to the event and during the event. We go over how he fueled and how transition went. He even gave tips for running  Spartan Ultras as well. He is a Yancy Camp Athlete specializing for ultra distance that you can signup to train with too. Also we talked about many of his other endurance races he has done in the past. If your thinking about a Spartan Ultra, You'll want to check this one out.

On this Episode, I talk to Sarah Hernandez. Sarah is an up and coming Age Group racer who has been doing good in the season so far. We talk about her life growing up in the South. She tells us about being struck by a car, and how she recovered from that. I also got her to tell us about how she and Bruce Jackson met ( Bruce was on Episode 50 and 75). We talk about her last few races including her Charlotte Sprint race where she was less than a half a second from placing 3rd in her AG, and how she came back the next day and crushed it! I love having friends on the show, and this was a great chat you don't want to miss.

On this Episode, I had an awesome chat with Ultra Runner and Head of US Operations for Rat Race, Jimmy McCaffrey. We talk about how he came to ultra running, started hosting his own races and now working for Rat Race. We go over all the epic adventures that Rat Race will be putting on in the future, and discuss some of the details of each of them. Jimmy was great to talk to and had a lot of cool stories to tell. Don't miss this one!

On this Episode, Brian Gowiski tells us about his back to back podiums at Charlotte Sprint race. We also talk about Spartan races in the past that we have done and the experiences we had. This was an awesome Episode where I felt like I was just talking shop with a buddy after a race. You definitely want to check this one out!

On this Episode, Charlotte Curtis tells us about running OCR races with minimal running early on, and then transitioning to ultra running during 2020. She has done a lot of ultra races in a short amount of time, and has done very well. We go over a few of those, but especially her most recent 2nd place finish at the Georgia Death Race. The Georgia Death Race is a 74ish mile point to point trail run from Vogal State Park to Amicalola Falls State Park. Runners have to carry a 1lb railroad spike the entire way. You don't want to miss this one! 

On this Episode Rachel Watters tells us about her Georgia Savage race this past weekend where she took 2nd place! We also talk about the Casa Garcia 24 hr OCR endurance race that she took First place overall and went 80 miles! Many other races as well, you don't want to miss this episode!

On this Episode I interviewed John Penland. We talked about how he found the sport of OCR, and some of the past races he has done. We also talked about his last race at the Spartan San Antonio Super and Sprint-where he placed 1st in the Super, and 3rd in the Sprint.

On this Episode I interviewed Josiah Middaugh, after his top 10 finish at the Jacksonville National series race. Josiah has a huge endurance racing background in Xterra racing. Being a 14x Xterra National Champion and the 2015 Xterra World Champion. He was on the "Spartan Games", which is a 4 part series on YouTube. He was also on the Amazon Prime's "ECO Challenge Race" that took place in Fiji. He decided to race the Jacksonville race, even though he hasn't done a Spartan Race since 2011. He had an excellent race coming back and is sure to be a threat in races to come. You don't want to miss this Episode!

On this episode I speak with Logan Bernhart. We talk about his background and when he got into OCR. We talk about how he took first place at the OCR Overload race this past weekend and his plans for 2021. Also past races and much more!

On this episode I speak with OCR Overload owner Aaron Frank! OCR Overload is an obstacle race that's going to take place on February, 6th in Waldo Florida. Before you say "where's Waldo" it's like a 3o minute drive from Jacksonville. Its going to be a 4 mile race with almost 40 obstacles! With a combination of Swamp Battle and Hildervat Obstacles.
