Postgame 2/27: Back to Beating Up on the Bad Teams
27/02/2021 Duración: 37minThe Philadelphia Flyers improved to 10-1-1 against teams that aren't the Boston Bruins with a dominant performance against the Jack Eichel-less Buffalo Sabres on Saturday afternoon. The 3-0 victory was Brian Elliott's second shutout of the season, the first also coming in a 3-0 win against Buffalo. Sean Couturier, Shayne Gostisbehere, and Scott Laughton scored for Philly, whose team shot total hit 39 for a second consecutive game. The Flyers have won the shot battle by a combined 78-50 over the last two games, showing that although Boston, the East's elite team, may have their number, the orange and black are taking care of business against lesser competition. And speaking of competition, do we have a GOALIE CONTROVERSY? For this and a whole lot more, check out the postgame podcast. Learn more about your ad choices. Postgame 2/24: Wins are fun, I'd almost forgotten
25/02/2021 Duración: 41minIt was good to see the Philadelphia Flyers remembered they have to score more goals than their opponents, and they recognized the best way to do that is by taking considerably more shots. Well, on Wednesday night, the Flyers took a season-high 39 shots on goal en route to a 4-3 win over the New York Rangers, restoring peace and balance to the universe and setting themselves on a course towards the playoffs. Claude Giroux announced his return to the lineup with authority, picking up 3 assists, registering 8 shots on goal and winning 73% of his faceoffs, while Erik Gustafsson and Shayne Gostisbehere each notched their first goals of the season. Other stuff happened- JVR scored, so did Kevin Hayes. Chris Kreider accounted for all the Rangers' offense, scoring a hat trick- the second Philly has allowed in as many games. Brian Elliott was good enough to get the win. Hockey was played, etc. Anyway, click play and listen to the postgame. Then listen to it on another device, too. Learn more about your ad choices.

Postgame 2/21: More like Tah-NO
22/02/2021 Duración: 53minDavid Pastrnak is freakin' ridiculous. Like... damn, yo. Pasta netted another hat trick against, his second triple tally game against the Philadelphia Flyers this month, en route to a 7-3 victory in the Lake Tahoe outdoor game on Sunday night. Philly is now 0-3-2 against the best team in the division in 2021, and Carter Hart has surrendered 20 goals in his four starts against the B's. That is... not good. Of course, the Flyers have yet to be at full strength when lining up against Boston, but all the excuses in the world don't make up for the three goals potted by Charlie Coyle, Trent Frederic, and Nick Ritchie in about a minute-and-a-half late in the second period. That's it, I'm done summarizing. You saw the game. Now, listen to the postgame. For real. Click play. Now. Learn more about your ad choices. Postgame 2/18: Sunday should be... fun?
19/02/2021 Duración: 25minProduction disclaimer: yes, I realize the audio is shaky in some spots. I forgot to record the broadcast separately so I had to take the audio from the Twitch recording, which apparently wasn't that great. My apologies. It's mostly fine. Without Claude Giroux, Jake Voracek, Scott Laughton, Oskar Lindblom, Travis Konecny, or Justin Braun the Philadelphia Flyers earned a point in a comeback shootout loss to a divisional rival. Of course, that rival was the lowly New York Rangers, the Flyers took a 1-0 lead a minute into the game and went 0/5 on the power play, but I'm choosing to look at the good. Well, that was a lie. Philly looked liked they were being defended by Tortorella's Rangers in the 2014 playoffs again, seeing 27 of their shot attempts blocked. The orange and black didn't help their cause much, missing the net on another 11 attempts. If a couple more of those reach the crease, perhaps while on the power play, this is a regulation win for the Fly Guys. It was not to be, however. Despite some late-game

Checking out the competition: The Rangers are bad!
18/02/2021 Duración: 24minNew friend of the pod Eleni of The Ice Garden joined us on incredibly short notice for a rather excellent conversation about the current state of the New York Rangers. Spoiler alert: no one can score, no one is shooting, and they have approximately 1.34 NHL defensemen at the moment. Should be a fun game! Learn more about your ad choices. Postgame 2/3: YOU BLEW IT!
04/02/2021 Duración: 41minDespite a slow start that saw David Pastrnak blow by Shayne Gostisbehere and deflect his first goal of the game off of Ivan Provorov in the game's first 12 seconds, the Philadelphia Flyers actually played one of their best games of the season on Wednesday night against the Boston Bruins. That is, of course, until a comedy of errors, namely stupid penalties, began in late in the third period. Protecting a 3-1 lead, Nicholas Aube-Kubel lead off the calamity by closing his hand around the puck when he caught a pop-fly in the neutral zone. Pasta scored his second of the night 10 seconds after the call to put Boston within one. Then, with two minutes left, Kevin Hayes got called for a lazy hook, which allowed No. 88 to convery his hat trick with only 14 seconds left in regulation. Finally, in the game's final 7 seconds, Scott Laughton committed a dumb interference which gave the Bruins a power play to begin overtime, a 4-on-3 advantage they used to win the game 30 seconds into the extra frame. Yup, Philly gave thi
