Not For Nothin'

The boys decide to spend the day before Valentines Day together before both taking much needed vacations for the weekend (Chris partying his ass off in NOLA, while Kris goes for the dry desert heat of Arizona and a retirement community). During their time together they join in on an epic New Jack City segment. From there, they manage to get to talking about the incomparable Luis Guzman. At this point why not throw a little Alliance of American Football, some Sixers sorrow & NBA All-Star gambling and they've got a full show. Well done gentlemen. You've earned a break... cause next week, it's a Knicks lament episode.

We interrupt this regularly scheduled podcast for, well actually just the same old podcast. Although the boys did try their hardest to have some guests. One of them even faked his wife's pregnancy to avoid coming on the pod (thanks a lot Mike). So they just trudge along and talk sports by themselves, recapping a Super Bowl that wasn't so super. But they still talk about it just like everyone else. The fire alarms finally turned off, which means they can move on to NBA Trade Deadline stuff and Chris isn't even freaking out about the Sixers moves. I think he likes it. Kris has a sneaky good under-the-radar trade he loves, which blows Chris's mind.

You know it's a good show when the guys start it off debating if you can call the Super Bowl the Super Bowl, or if you have to refer it as The Big Game. Just try and sue us Goodell. Then they keep the good times rolling by talking about their facebook posts and comments. These guys are really go the extra mile to figure out excellent and creative content for this podcast. How has no one hired them yet? Otherwise this show is all about the props. They do throw in their NBA picks of the week... or day. But this episode is all about the Big Game, and picking picks to help you enjoy the game and loose all your money at the same time. it's also under an hour to listen to, so that's a bonus!

On this very special episode, the boys are lured into the bicycle shop of Mr. Horton with wine, adult cartoons and a photo shoot... er, um, never mind. Wrong program. Not much happens on this episode anyway. I think they talk sports, but who the hell knows with these two. Plus it's the week before the Super Bowl, so really cares either.

It's the NFL Conference Championship week, so these two dodo birds decide to talk about anything besides football. They're really good at this, aren't they? Instead, let's talk 112 (the R&B group) - and making January 12th a national holiday... then let's get back into the delightful R. Kelly talk - which brings up a great question... what do we have trapped & hidden in our closets (literally)? Chris has a #rolltide story, then rambles on and stumbles into a few football topics and some basketball - which both circle around conspiracy. The point of all this is they can't stay on topic. Want proof? they try to circle back around to these topics to finish their thoughts. It still doesn't happen. Just get to the picks (36:33)you guys and be done with it.

The boys had such a good weekend, they couldn't wait to do another podcast. Chris recaps his odd gambling tendencies which resulted in him actually making money. Since he's riding a high, lets bring him back down to grumpy town with some Sixers talk. But please just don't bring up the Thibodeau being fired - just let him be boys. Then please move on to some exciting NFL coaching carousel talk, that'll really expand your listenership! Finish it over with some college football hot takes, cause that's your wheel house. Somehow this is getting Kris all fired up... lets take a pause to shout out long-time listener P Pitty... now back to regularly scheduled programming, of complaining about everything, including baseball offseason. A new year, same old podcast? this one feels a little different, a little more organized and on point? We'll see how long it last. they start off tackling the NFL drama surrounding Quarterbacks and their Wide Receivers. The Kardashians got nothing on these fools. This leads to a breakdown of the Roethlisberger weird brainwashed PR-machine. Then do an in-memoriam for two people Chris actually wants to give props to. Plus Chris has a Urban Meyer hot-take which is always good. Eventually Chris & Kris decide to make their playoff picks (33:13). And since they finished right at .500 (as usual), not sure if 2019 will be better or worse for them.

The boys are are able to pull off a holiday week show. I would say it's a Christmas miracle, but some people might find that offensive. But even more realistically, these guys really have nothing else going on in their lives, so here they are. Their meander along between a new drink called the Burfict Austin Collie (get it), as a tribute to all those concussions they've both suffered. that's the holiday spirit boys! They also talk ad nauseam about their fantasy football, and wins pools. It's definitely not the gift that keeps on giving. They get to LeBron's fake injury just to take the holidays off, as a bonus they don't figure out what's wrong with the Sixers. Alright this is taking too long, just get to your bad week 17 picks fellas (33:16).

Ep. 119 Not For Nothin' 2018 NFL Week 16 Picks by Kris & Chris

Strap on your tinfoil hats everyone! We've reached Defcon 1 levels here, this is serious (unfortunately). Chris jumps on the Steph Curry we-didn't-land-on-the-moon-consipracy (am I using these hyphens right?), and just goes all in guns blazing. Kris loves to have fun with this usually but he's heard enough. Maybe you're wondering who wins? No one, because you can't rationalize with the insane and the irrational. This sh*t is frustrating. Somehow (and not smoothly) they move on to come together finding peace in sh*t-talking Babe Ruth. Then finally (35:00) get to what they are so good at, gambling on football and making fun of everyone and themselves.

Ep. 117 Not For Nothin' 2018 Week 14 NFL Picks by Kris & Chris

This is a long one folks. They somehow get into interracial-buddy-prison escape movies - Amos & Andy anyone? They badly move on to NBA talk including Buffalo Wild Wings not being that terrible of a place: the Legend of Jimmy Butler growing; Kawhi conquering the dad-shoe market with New Balance. Then Kris opens a can of worms and starts a flash fire in Chris when he's asked who he's more wrong about: Luka Doncic or Blake Bortles? Oh no you didn't Kris. This went on way too long and you could probably just skip ahead 20 minutes to get to their week 13 picks (52:00). If you think they were terrible picking the games last week, it's possible for them to be worse still. I think they can do it!

Ep. 115 Not For Nothin' 2018 NFL Week 12 Picks by Kris & Chris

This is the last minute celebration-holiday edition podcast show. Well for the one Chris at least. After hearing the news that the Sixers traded for Jimmy Butler, Chris grabs the wife (good job remembering her) and jumps on a plane to Uruguay... cause, why not! It's what Jimmy woulda done, right? The other Kris was able to track him down and record a show, while it was snowing where he was (just saying). So obviously they talk about that trade, and then get into week 11 picks for football. Luckily, that's it.

Just when you think last weeks show was bad, these guys find another way to make it even worse. I don't think that's easy to do, so good job guys? there's a lot of rambling about Bill Burr and maybe some gambling? I don't really know and good luck following along boys & girls. Eventually they try to make picks this week too (22:00). And I think they are even worse than least week at that too. If you've ever watched the animated show Big Mouth you'll understand the reference: this episode reminds me of the decrepit, old hormone monster.

You want the sports talk? we got the sports talk right here! Where else are you going to get weird gambling stories and Phillies offseason rumors. Nothing but the best for our listeners. Kris even wakes up and gives a good (okay decent take on the NFL kinda make the right moves) and even goes off on two so-called NFL head coaches. They are also riding a high from their successful record for week 8. if only they really bet money on the games... Oh and Benmo, just let them enjoy it for once, geez dad. Let's see if they can keep it going for week 9 (37:00).

They decided to do the show on Wednesday and it shows. Kinda feels like they don't know what to talk about. So it's all about Lebron, the Lakers & the Rondo-Chris Paul fight??? In fairness to them, its a slow sports news day. Not surprisingly, they take almost half an hour to talk it out. Then they move on to a little NFL and make their picks. Go Brock Osweiler!

The boys have an airing of grievances about baseball, and then roll out their over-reaction and hot takes of the early NBA season. There's some other crap in there, but eventually they get to week 7 picks for the NFL (40:00). Unlike these guys, I'm keeping this short and sweet.

This is the big, huge NBA Season preview episode... eh, nope. It's not. But at least they're not waiting until January to talk hoops. Chris tells his sad gambling trifecta story. Then they make some NBA Rookie of the Year picks to try to and cheer him up. They do a tiny little preview of the upcoming NBA season. Then move on to NFL weekly picks (36:00). Kris tries to do it Chip Kelly-hurry up version, while Chris goes into Jeff Fisher-pound-and-ground. Neither is a very good system. But good luck with those picks fellas.

So this one starts off real weird. Like two guys took a few different colored pills and see what happens weird - singing proclaimers songs, rebranding Mike & Mike, cheating on your wife with food & strip club in airports kinda weird. Kris brings up a conspiracy theory that pisses Chris off so much he has to talk about it. They talk a bit of baseball playoffs and now hope for the worst PC World Series possible - Indians vs Braves. They get into football and get into the Jeff Fisher situation. They sneak in a little NBA talk before getting to the good stuff. Let's get ready to Gaaaaamble (36:08)!
