Pastor Bruce Garner // Ever feel crunched for time? That may be the easiest (or possibly the dumbest) question anyone could ask you these days! Almost everyone I talk to is pressured and scrambling to “find the time” or “make the time” to “do what they need to do.” Yes, we say funny things when we talk about our precious time. (After all, who can really make it or find it?) Sunday, we will walk beside Jesus in the gospel of Luke again as He gets into a public fight (in a worship service, no less!) over TIME. The outcome of that fight is a wonderful lesson I am trying to apply to my life TODAY. Hope you can bring your time-starved family and friends and listen to Jesus reorient and refresh us all.

Pastor Bruce Garner // Thanks for looking out for me! HE'S DOWN! SHOULD WE SHOOT HIM?!? There’s an old cliche that the only army that shoots its wounded is the Christian church. Like many cliches, it has some truth in it. Too many Christians have discovered that they fell into sin and no one came to help. I’ve heard too many stories of people who were wounded and abandoned. Is that the best we can do? NO. Sunday, I want to share a passage from Scripture that tells us what sort of congregation we should be, and how we should treat one another as we follow Jesus together. I hope you’ll join me, and if you have a friend who has been wounded by church, ask them to come with you. Actually doing what God says always brings wholeness.

Pastor DJ McMoil // Growing Up: Obey This Sunday, I have the honor of preaching Matthew 19-16-26 to you, helping Pastor Bruce finish his series on some fundamentals on the Christian faith. The topic will be Obey, and I think it can be a difficult one to get right as we try to apply it. On the one hand, we can recoil from the idea of God requiring our obedience; on the other, we can overestimate the contribution that obedience makes to our salvation. We will dig into Scripture to learn to fall in the gap between those two and give Jesus control of our hearts and actions!

Pastor Bruce Garner // PRAYER. Everybody talks about it, and a lot of people say they do it, too. But it can create a lot of confusion. Discouragement, even, when you seem to pray without answers. Pastor Bruce Garner // NEW SERIES: GROWING UP Before we return to our “through books of the Bible” approach, I am excited to share a four-week series with you! “Growing Up” will capture the basics of our growth as disciples of Jesus. Ponder Matthew 22:34-40 before we gather for worship this Sunday as we consider the commandment God gave us to LOVE. Later in the year we will explore the gospel of Luke, the book of James and Proverbs.
