Pastor Bruce Garner // JESUS THE DIVIDER A few years ago, a good friend started reading the gospels carefully, and Jesus made him a little uncomfortable. He’d read the Bible for many years, but somehow missed the hard edges! This Sunday, we will hear Jesus speak about what makes Him SO DIFFERENT. I’ll just tell you right now: He’s WORTH IT. You should listen to Him and love Him. There’s no one like Him and on Sunday, He will tell us why.

Pastor Bruce Garner // READY? OR NOT? DOES GOD HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE ANGRY? As we listen to Jesus in the gospel of Luke this Sunday, I can nearly guarantee you’ll feel the tension of that question. You may have never Jesus’ words from the end of Luke before, but they are vitally important. Jesus tells His disciples in urgent, eternal terms exactly what is coming! We were growing lonely and alienated in America. It was true then, and most would say it is even worse now. This Sunday, I’m going to share a passage that is challenging to me. It directs and encourages me as a pastor. It’s all about our life together. I am praying it will help us understand the KIND of church Jesus wants us to be. Pastor Bruce Garner // ONE BIBLICAL TRUTH TO FOCUS YOUR WHOLE LIFE As a lifelong Christian and third generation minister, I’m allergic to hype. There’s just too much artificial buzz and promotion. But years ago I saw something that the Bible clearly teaches, and it refocused our family’s life. It has always been in the Bible, and it is very clear, but it is seldom taught. I understand why, but it is WORTH the risk of teaching it. It is life changing. The topic: heaven, and on what basis people will be rewarded there. I’ve only taught this once since I’ve been at CrossPoint, and I am looking forward to engaging this again. I hope you’ll join me Sunday at 9:00a, 10:30a, or 5:30p!

It’s the way life works: when trust is gone, it’s OVER.  The relationship, the joy, the peace; all of it.   As we conclude our series in the Psalms this Sunday, we’ll visit a time in Israel’s history when they were pressured and afraid.  In their collective song, we will find the basis of trust that can take us through the hard days.  I hope you’ll be here Sunday at 9:00a, 10:30a, or 5:30p.

Self-talk is a BIG factor in your joy in life and it will help you to listen to David talk to himself in Psalm 103. It’s been a strength to me for many years. As I explained they are a playlist for every emotion and season - songs for a life with God in every key. This Sunday, Psalm 4 presents us an evening song - a song for peace, rest and sleep - even when the world is falling apart around you. King David, with more pressure and more enemies than any of us will probably ever face, can teach us how to trust God and rest even when the whole world is against us. Have a stressed-out loved one? This Sunday we will begin a new series in the Psalms and the first Psalm we will explore answers that question. This recurring series will take us through every emotion and season of life: lament and mourning, fear and anger, as well as joy and celebration. Pastor Bruce Garner // FEELING A LITTLE DOWN? Plenty of people are. There is often a letdown right after Christmas. That’s why this Sunday I am going to share Psalm 13 with you. In it, you can watch a man who feels that God has forgotten him work through his sorrow with brokenness, faith, and, ultimately, hope.
