Most likely, you’re really good at picking out the hypocrisies in others. It’s a necessary part of your walk to discriminate between those who are genuinely seeking Christ and those who are merely seeking self. But, your chief priority is to make sure that you are right with God. As Pastor Johnny will remind you in today’s message, while you’re on the lookout for people who will lead you astray, you need to be sure that your lifestyle and actions are pointing others towards Christ and not away.

Jesus said that He is the only way. Many people in our society claim to “like” Jesus, but they aren’t going to follow Him. They’re too attached to the comforts of the flesh, entrenched in a selfish way of life, where the focus is all about serving their own desires or egos. As Pastor Johnny will remind you in today’s message, no matter how “good” you think you are… no matter how generous or kind you are, if it’s all done apart from the love of Christ, it lacks any eternal value.

Where is your focus? If you’re driving a car, your attention is hopefully on the road in front of you. If it drifts onto that last text notification or to adjusting the climate controls, the results of that momentary diversion can be catastrophic. As Pastor Johnny addresses the issue of distractions in our Christian lives, he reminds us of the importance of focus. As you walk the narrow path with Jesus, it’s vital that you keep your eyes on Him, because the consequences of a wandering heart can be very painful.

Today, Pastor Johnny will be challenging you to test yourself to see whether or not y ou are in the faith. Going to church won't save you, or get you into Heaven. Trying to be a better person than you were, won't get you into Heaven either. The only way you can be saved is through the grace of God alone. Once you are saved, you're in a constant state of being sanctified. You will always be a work in progress until the Lord comes again, or takes you home to be with Him!

Most of us long for power in some form. Whether it’s in your relationships, careers, or even just over your own emotions, nobody likes to feel helpless. Many people spend their entire lives running after that sense of control or authority. Some are successful in attaining that superficial position, while some are not. Regardless where you fall, as Pastor Johnny will explain in today’s message, the only true source of power is God, and anything else will leave you empty and disappointed.

As Pastor Johnny continues his teaching series through the Book of 2 Thessalonians, he'll be warning you against hardening your heart toward the things of God. The main characteristic of those that will be left on the Earth during the tribulation period is hardness of heart. As a Christian you still need to purpose to keep your heart softened to the voice of the Holy Spirit. There will be a time when the Holy Spirit stops restraining the Anti-Christ and He will take you out of this world to be with Him. Use this time while you're still here to preach the Gospel to the lost, and to guide people to Jesus.

One of the most dangerous sinful conditions you can have is religious hypocrisy. This is the main sinful condition that made Jesus extremely angry. Today, Pastor Johnny will be explaining how Jesus ate with sinners, trying to save them from their sin. Yet, the religious leaders were continuously rebuked by Jesus. It's a dangerous place to be in when you can go to church, sing worship songs, yet still live like unbelievers. Don't allow the leaven of the Pharisees which is hypocrisy to spread in your life.

As Pastor Johnny continues his teaching through 2 Thessalonians, he'll be reminding you that simply believing in a doctrine isn't the same as having saving faith in Jesus for your salvation. Even the demons believe there's a God and they are destined for Hell. It's more than having an intellectual understanding of the doctrine of salvation and of who Jesus is. You need to have a saving faith in Jesus which leads to obedience to Him. The only proof of salvation is having a transformed life.

Would you consider yourself a loving person? A better question to ask would be: Do those who work with you or live with you consider you to be a loving person? Pastor Johnny will be challenging you today to extend unconditional love toward others and to be more others- centered throughout your day. Having love is better than all of the spiritual gifts listed in the Bible! You can have the gift of prophecy, and you can have the gift of teaching, but if you don't have love all of that means nothing.

As Pastor Johnny continues his teaching series through the book of 2 Thessalonians, he'll be reminding you to extend grace to others because of the amazing grace God has extended to you. If God Almighty who is just in His judgment of your sin has chosen to forgive you and give you grace to be saved, who do you think you are not extended grace to those who have wronged you? You've been called as a Christian to not only receive God's love and grace, but to also help others experience it too.

In this second epistle of Paul to the church of Thassalonica, you'll hear how Paul was warning them against false teachers and heretical doctrines. This also serves as a warning to you as well! Pastor Johnny will be reminding you that there are even more heresies being taught in churches today, and the only way you can stand firm in the truth, is by being a student of the Word of God. Satan is always trying to pervert God's Word by tempting you to believe God isn't good in one way or another.

The Bible say's: “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit say's the Lord of Hosts”. No matter what difficulty you may face in your life, God who lives within you has already supplied you with the strength to overcome it. God desires you to press on and to have victory over all tribulation and sin!

Can you look back in your walk with the Lord and honestly say that you're more on fire for Him now then you were in the past?
