Walking In Truth

When everything in life is comfortable and cushy, your sense of dependence on God is lessened. You’re self-sufficient and sure of the next paycheck, the next meal, and the next outing that will suffice your entertainment needs. Well, you’re being faced with a new reality of-late, and today, Pastor Johnny walks you through what God may be doing and how He may be moving in order to rally His people to a place of crying out to Him. This outpouring of expression shows a reliance on Jesus.

Today on Walking in Truth, we are interrupting our regular schedule to share a very timely message that will be sure to encourage us in light of the very challenging times we are facing! Pastor Johnny will share with us today that no matter what battles we may be facing or will face in the future, our God remains the same. He is faithful and trustworthy, and He’s given us His promises to calm our fears. When you feel powerless to what is happening, turn to the One who is powerful and pray!

Have you ever learned how to do something the correct way and then gone back to do it wrong again, just for kicks? That would be idiotic. If you know the right way, why would you try anything else? Pastor Johnny talks to us today about how your relation-ship with the Lord takes work and commitment on your part. If you don’t take time to get into your Bible or to pray to God, how do you expect to grow in Him? When you truly love Jesus, your wants will be His wants and your needs will be after His heart.

People say that truth is too exclusive. But isn’t that what truth is? If you say something is true, then by default, you’re saying the opposite is false. Pastor Johnny talks to us today about how everyone is invited to Christianity. It doesn’t matter what you have or what you’ve done, God judges based off the heart. If yours is sincere and contrite, then you are a child of His. The only exclusive part is the truth; that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. There’s nothing you can do to make Him love you more, or less.

It can be easy to fall into a mindset of disappointment. People constantly let you down and life is full of battles. But Pastor Johnny reminds us today that, as Christians, we have the gift and ability to “renew our minds.” Through the Bible, we can grow and learn to not be anxious and to not worry about the future because God has already taken care of it. When you have the Creator of the Universe on your side and you know He loves you more than you can imagine, you have no real reason to feel depressed.

Some of us dream of theatrical ways of proving others wrong. When we’re right, we want everyone to know. Today, Pastor Johnny talks about how Jesus came, humbly to this earth. He came to save us and to prove a point and yet it was in a stone manger that He was laid. He came this way so that there could be no excuses. He lived amongst the lowest and He triumphed in ways we don’t think about. Jesus Christ can relate to everyone because He endured everything that anyone has had to endure.

Today, Pastor Johnny talks about what the Bread of Life is. Jesus likes to use parables and metaphors in order to drive a point home. One of the metaphors He used was calling Himself the Bread of Life; meaning that Jesus is substantial – in and of Himself. There isn’t a type of hunger that He can’t satisfy. There isn’t a type of thirst that He can’t quench. There’s something missing in your life and you haven’t been able to figure it out… test and see if it’s Jesus. Do you ever feel helpless? You want to fix a situation, but there’s absolutely nothing you can do? Pastor Johnny talks today about how God is always in control. He is in charge of every tiny detail in your life. When something or someone is ready to be “fixed”, God will provide the opportunity. Don’t think that you’re going to get in the way. There is no one in heaven or earth that can hinder God’s will. Take comfort that although you are in charge of your decisions, God keeps an eye open for every one of His children.

Have you been sharing with others the good news of Jesus Christ? Pastor Johnny reminds you today that as a Christian, you're called to spread the Good Word. You're not to hide your knowledge of Jesus. Instead, you're to build your relationship with Him and to demonstrate that relationship through good character and conversations about Him. Don't be scared to share what you believe. Ask the Holy Spirit to shine through you and to give you the courage to speak up when you should.

Have you stepped out into the things that God has placed on your heart? Today, Pastor Johnny teaches you just how important it is to know what Jesus is asking of you and to faithfully do those things. It's through the action of taking one step forward that you'll gain the momentum to take a few steps more. Before you know it, those few steps will turn into a lifetime of steps walking toward Jesus and His will for you. Don't hesitate in moving forward in God’s plan for your life. Take the first step.

Once you're saved, your spirit will find a joy and hope that will radiate through all the things that you do. Pastor Johnny teaches you today of the connection between the soul and the spirit. He asks you to think of the Christians who most influenced your life so that you can recognize the goodness that lived in them. You too should radiate that joy and goodness. Focus on your relationship with Jesus and let the love that you have for Him spill out to all those around you.

The prophecies that Jesus fulfilled are undeniable. He's ticked every box that He needed to to indisputably be proclaimed as the Messiah. Today, Pastor Johnny helps you understand how many prophesies Jesus fulfilled. He teaches you that the only thing that Jesus has left to do now is return for Judgement Day. He's undeniably our Savior and King. Ask Him into your heart and pursue a life of serving Him. Know that He's real and will some day return to reign as your King.

When Mary was told that she'd have a child, she didn't doubt God, but she did ask questions. Today, Pastor Johnny encourages you to ask questions in your walk with the Lord. He helps you understand that asking God questions doesn't mean that you're faithless. You're in a relationship with Jesus and as such, it's good for you to ask Him the questions that you have. Seek Him out and ask what you wish, but do so knowing that He'll only answer when it best serves your good and the desires of His will for you.

Jesus was born of the virgin Mary. It's important to understand and acknowledge the miraculousness of this occasion. Today, Pastor Johnny teaches you the importance of Mary’s virginity. He helps you understand that acknowledging this as truth is as important as acknowledging the fact that Jesus was raised from the dead. By understanding who Mary was and how she came to be the mother of Jesus, Pastor Johnny inspires you to faithfully look to Christ as your one and only true King and Savior.

Doubt and unbelief in Jesus and who He is will take you to a dark place. It's crucial that you know Him and His Word as truth. Pastor Johnny challenges you today to know the Bible and to believe in it. He explains to you the importance of knowing what you believe and why so that you can confidently place Jesus as your center. The Bible is God’s Word. It is Truth. Do you see it as such? If not, now is the time to delve deeper into it. Study it and ask God to shed His light on its truth. Allow His Word to become your center.

Are you a person of integrity? If someone was to watch you every day, would they think of you as a solid and trustworthy person, or as a hypocritical and dishonest one? Pastor Johnny reminds you today of the importance of being a role model. Every day, you should live a life that demonstrates Godly character. You should be a consistent person who's aware of the good and evil in this world. You should avoid evil and exemplify good. Be a person who others see as good, kind, and honest.

No service to God will be left unrewarded. All things that you've done for Him He knows about. He sees the hard work and time that you've committed and He's thankful for it. Pastor Johnny challenges you today to not hold back the things that God has placed in your heart. No matter how small or irrelevant they may seem. Do the things that He asks of you and do them knowing that you'll please Him. Allow that to become the thing that your heart seeks; to please Him as often as you can.

It's important to understand that as a Christian you need to be putting time into your relationship with Christ. Simply showing up for Church every now and then is simply not enough. Today Pastor Johnny reminds you that Christianity's about being in a relationship with Jesus. To be in a relationship means setting aside time to develop your love for Him. Just as you would dedicate time to the person you wanted to marry you must dedicate time to Christ. Get to know Him by being with Him as often as you can.

If you feel as though God has gone silent to you the first question that you should be asking yourself is “am I living according to His Word?”. Pastor Johnny teaches you today that if you are blatantly sinning against God then you're likely silencing Him from your life. Though sin will always be in your nature you're to fight it. When you embrace the sin and practice in it unforgivingly you'll be pushing God and His blessings away from your life. Look to Gods Word and fight to abide by it.

Have you heard the lie that science and religion don't gel? Have you made the mistake of thinking that to accept the Bible as truth you must ignore the discoveries that mankind are unfolding?
