Sockscast

It's the hottest summer on record (probably) and that means we had no choice but to break out our hottest Sockscast of the year (not likely.) In this whiz-bang Rhete-centric episode, Rhete's literally doing all the things, John just can't seem to pry himself away from these Sonic games, and Polly's about to fire John for having the worst Sonic-related opinions.

Got a nice, breezy new episode of the ol' Sockscast here for ya this time around! This new chapter of the Sockscast Legacy gets started in probably the only fitting way as we John helps us dive deep into Sonic The Hedgehog, old and new while Rhete and Polly nerd out over the happy memories they created with Megadimension Neptunia VII and Life is Strange. Also, some anime or something, I dunno. Also, John is rude.

Well, who'd have thought we'd have made it this far? Our first big milestone! Episode 50! And to celebrate, we're...kinda just doing things the way we normally do around here. Up first, John's playing Pokemon Go because of course he is, Rhete's playing Shadows of Mordor and finally discovering "his thing," and Polly has zero time to solve this dilemma. After the news and your Twitter questions, we have ourselves a bit of a spoilercast for the Japanese Cartoon Shinsekai Yori in the second half of the show, but don't worry, there's a warning and timestamps to help you skip that if you'd like. And finally, the episode wraps up with a nearly 30-minute (though not in any way thorough or comprehensive) clip show of some of our favorite moments over the course of the show's first 50 episodes! Hey! Lookit that! It's only been almost three months, but your good pals at the Album Listening Club are back in action and this time they're reviewing Coheed & Cambria's ambitious and seemingly troubled 2010 release, Year of the Black Rainbow.

The Sockscast is back to a trio and in this episode things get maybe... a bit weirder than usual! Mighty No. 9 finally managed to eke its way out and and boy do we have opinions on that! After that Rhete has lots of experiences with the fishes, John's very, very, VERY excited to tell us all about The Game Specifically Made For Him, and Polly has a big project announcement! Things only get weirder from here...

It's that time of year again, when videogame companies trot out fake demos and trailers to illicit excitement in hopes of lots of pre-orders! We start this episode by shooting the bull about E3! And then, comin' out the bushes, you've heard her in the background of many Sockscast episodes, but she's finally decided to take center stage to make her podcast debut, it's Anna Thyer and she wants to talk some Fire Emblem! Along with that, Polly reaches out to the truth by shooting it, Rhete has finally played the most difficult game ever made, and John remains VERY calm while playing Spelunky.

Get yourselves ready for a Sockstravaganza as we welcome long-standing Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net community pal, artist, and overall great guy Carmichael Micaalus. He's gonna be sure to get you ALL caught up on his 2016 so far, which includes thrills, chills, and maybe a Fort Knox robbery. After that, Polly isn't quite sure why there's a fifth Die Hard movie, Rhete tears more into Tearaway and is reduced to tears, and John is playing all the hot new AAA releases.

The Sockscast is joined this episode by Mirai, a super cool dude that's been chums with Polly and pals for years and he's gonna give us the lowdown on basement diving for treasure and Overwatch, among other things. After that, Polly is adrift in an ocean of stars, John's Final Fantasy consumption has reached critical levels, and Rhete's learning some hard lessons in warfare.

This episode of the Sockscast, we're giving bad people good idea as Sayara joins us to barf art all over this classless podcast. We get things kicked off the only way we can by discussing that there new Death Grips album, and then Sayara's gonna take us on a PSO2 journey with some Senran Kagura and a few other things swirled in to taste. After that, John's still got that Marvel Movie Madness, Rhete's puttin' all his best moves on Noire, and Polly is coming at you live from the new world.

The Sockscast goes worldwide and international for the second time in 2016 as SnS Forum member Gesh86 joins us all the way live from Germany Land and he wants to show us all of his martial arts moves and be REALLY salty about it! After that, Polly is 1001% better than you, Rhete needs to call Saul, and John is stuck at home.

Aww, dip, y'all are in for a treat this episode, because the world famous Erik of twitch.tv/eriksjoystick returns to the Sockscast and he just can't get enough Miis in his life. After that, all John ever does now is watch movies, Rhete can't keep himself out of post-apocalyptic wastelands, and Polly returns from her perilous magical girl labyrinth journey. Also...chasms...Well, just one SPECIFIC chasm...

This episode of The Sockscast gets started off with a bang as we debut something super cool as hell from our good pal over at the Album Listening Club, Taylor, so be sure to shoot her some love when you hear it. Then, Maple The Fluffy Dog returns to our wonderful little Sockscast after almost a year and a half, and they've been up to some crazy shooty action with the incredible SUPERHOT and The Division. After that, Rhete plays the happiest RPG ever, John takes a trip to Outworld to destroy the Shao Kahn menace, and Polly gets stuck in a labyrinth with an entire harem of cute magical girls!

You'll have to excuse the rush, but this is a special update episode of The Sockscast to report some late-breaking news that concerns a past guest we had on the show and the growing suspicions his appearance has raised. Presented here is Rainiac's confession in his own words.

The Sockscast welcomes aboard Nate, who many may recognize as Zenatoto from the LP boards at SnS, and he's here to pitch a revolutionary new game to John. After that, Polly hits the green, Rhete stars in his own retro anime series, and John has a few more box quotes he'd like to add to Secret of Mana.

Your good pal and mine, Beepner joins us for this rip-roaring episode of The Sockscast and he wants to tell us all about the cute little half-genie hero that stole his heart. After that, Polly heeds the Dark Call with JoyMasher's latest, Rhete does a whole lot of stuff that is decidedly not videogames, and John legally plays every Turbo Grafx 16 game he can get his grubby little mitts on.

In this magical episode of the Sockscast, we find out that Polly has a bigger D-Meter than you, John's been a ghost all along, and Rhete may just have a crippling addiction. Also, there's this series we're not sure you've ever heard about called Hyperdimension Neptunia, and we talk about it a little bit.

After a bit of life gettin' in the way, the Album Listening Club makes its triumphant return as we dig deep into Byron's pick, PC Music Vol. 1. What on Earth has Byron gotten us into? Join us as we untangle this mess of bubblegum to try and figure it all out...

Well, we just went and accidentally recorded our longest normal episode in a while, so we hope you got four hours to spare. We welcome the last surviving Brit, Rainiac to the show and he's gonna tell us all about how he parties hard and probably wrasslin' at some point. After that, Rhete's PSO2 stories only become more ridiculous, John joins Rhete and solves all the freakin' puzzles, and Polly has a pretty extensive review of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.

Dr.Nooooooo, infamous Rappy Bucket and all-around cool dude that Polly and Rhete have known since 2001, makes his podcasting debut in glorious Rappy Bucket Definition on this episode of the Sockscast and gives us the low-down on some Samurai Warriors and Metal Gear Solid V and so much more! After that, Rhete takes us on a journey with a bad-ass elephant, Polly spends two weeks playing games that are ten years old, and John plays games that make him feel terrified and small.
