Are you ready to kick off 2016 with the BEST PODCAST EVER? Well, too damn bad, because you're doin' it anyway, so shut your noise hole and open your hearing holes! Joining us this episode we have recently adopted SMPS baby, Raydio, who you may remember from our Anniversary cast and my stream. He's got a lot to say about The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky as well as some super secret game making talk near the end of the episode. Meanwhile, Polly's making a play to capture that Nuclear Throne, Rhete talks for 19 hours about Star Wars, and John is positively in love with Final Fantasy VIII!

And here we are. The very top of the lists. The cream of the crop. Where the best battle it out in vicious Mortal Kombat to determine the Best Game Ever. No wait, that's Undertale, but how about John, Rhete, and Polly working through their 2015 Game of the Year lists with entries 5 through 1? It's all the thrills, chills, and action you could expect from one podcast as well as the final haul of listener-contributated listerinos. And with that, the Sockscast bids adieu to 2015. 2015 has been an amazing year in music and that's why Taylor and Polly just couldn't help themselves and absolutely HAVE to share with you their Top 10 albums of the year! So sit back and enjoy some tasty jams from entries 10 through 6 on their lists.

We finally managed to trick Ashley into joining in on our dumb podcast shenanigans for our final episode of the year before Game of the Year stuff kicks off, and this three and a half hour thing is the result. As the year winds down it finds John having his mind blown for five hours straight by Virtue's Last Reward's True Ending and sharing some pretty popular opinions about Super Mario World, Ashley's been in the world of Nep-Neps and fighting off zombie hordes and finishing Tales of Xillia 2, Rhete's been slaying mighty foes with just his bow and dealing with his own zombie outbreak, and Polly has been reading only memories.

We got a nice chill of a Sockscast ready for you this week as we check in on John and his insatiable need to kick and punch people, Rhete's inability to play anything other than JRPGs, and Polly stumbling onto a game that ended up being quite a neat little surprise!

The Album Listening Club returns as we take a deep dive into Taylor's suggested listening material, the indie noise pop collective Deerhunter's Halcyon Digest. Upon its 2010 release, the album was met with consistently high critical praise, but does it have the same appeal for the listening club? Find out and enjoy some relaxing and somber tunes while you're at it!

Longtime SnS/8EasyBits Community member Peaches strolls into town this episode to give us the lowdown on tabletop gaming, getting lost in transit, and ignites a fiery Undertale discussion. After the fires calm, Polly gets in on this whole making Marios thing, Rhete busts out the finest selection in his wardrobe and clues us in on the mysterious connection between Undertale and BroForce, and John plays all the cool Wii U games and Demon's Souls. Also, Undertale...Probably.

Introducing the Sliders n' Socks Clubhouse podcast! John's hosting, and he's brought along some friends (Frezno, Jetstorm, and Zeloz) to talk about everyone's favorite sockscast topic, OBSCURE OLD MAYBE-KINDA-BAD JRPGS! We've been playing through classics like Hydlide, SaGa, and Lagoon in the forum for a while now. It was after playing Defenders of Oasis for the Game Gear and King Colossus for the Sega Genesis that we finally decided to make a podcast of it! We go in-depth talking about our experiences with the two games, with a lot of delightful, lengthy digressions along the way. Beepner, Byron Hulcher, Taylor, and Polly launch an all-new music-focused podcast! The idea began originally as a forum topic, but now it's here and even better in podcast form. The idea is that someone in the group or the community suggest an album for the hosts to listen to over the course of an undetermined number of weeks and then they get together to discuss the album in-depth with some short clips from each track to give the discussion context.
