It's the Fourth of July weekend and the most patriotic podcast ever is celebrating with long-time Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net contributator and forumite Vanor Orion. He's gonna give us the low-down on his journey into PC gaming, Call of Duty, and of course, Monster Hunter! Lots of Monster Hunter! All the Monster Hunter! After that, Rhete's watching an anime abut cute girls doing cute things in a music club and playing "Quite possibly the greatest game ever made," Polly's been busy raiding tombs and playing the most delightful RPG ever, and John's got a bone to pick with one of your favorite games of all-time! Oh...and the ever-so-subtle lyrical genius of Till Lindemann.

The Sockscast crew is joined by the one and only other person on the podcast that cares as much about Faith No More than Polly, Pauncho Smith. In this episode we're gonna talk Faith No More, Final Fantasy VII, streaming, and a lot of Mighty Switch Force. John's fallen down another gaming-related rabbit hole with SNK's signature fighting series The King of Fighters, Polly is sneaking around and stealing everything, and Rhete's got another case of the Neptunias! And also, surprise Faith No More reviews when you least expect them! EXCITEMENT!

The Sockscast welcomes the lovely and always a sheer joy to be around, Gremlinzrus, as she takes us on her journey through Sockscast favorite Shovel Knight, and Sockscast not-so-favorite DuckTales Remastered! Rhete's got quiiiiiiiiiiiiite a bit to say about Bloodborne, and John might actually get around to talking about the most important game he's played, but first... Meanwhile, Polly is floating through space as a gravity ghost, Rhete is using his slow-mo vision to ogle boobies, and John spirals further into the madness that is the SaGa series.

He joins us to discuss some StarBound and Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate among other things as Polly and Rhete take a trip to a magical land with the recent release of Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 to put a decisive end to the console wars and finally, John's still on a personal crusade to become a magical girl and a frog!

Well, hey, better late than never, right? As promised, here's your Sockscast-Flavored Spoilercast for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, featuring your favorite Beepner and mine, Beepner! If you haven't played The Last of Us, firstly, what's your deal? Secondly, don't listen to this episode if you intend to play it in the future. Don't worry, you won't hurt our feelings...too much. Of course, we obviously mean "The Powers That Beepner," since he's gracing our podcast with his ever-so-lovely presence and sharing his love of Dark Souls and cats fishing...or fisting...we're not sure. Meanwhile, Rhete, Polly, and John demonstrate the virtues of having your own videogame-related podcast by not talking about videogames much at all and instead focus on cartoons, music, and other weird obsessions truly befitting a podcast about videogames! The Sockscast train pulls into the station an eensy-weensy little bit late this week due to illness, but try as it might, illness has no concrete way of stopping the maximum amount of yappage coming from the only sorta-videogame podcast that matters! This episode Polly's headin' on down to South Park to have herself a time, John's finally achieved his dream of becoming a magical girl, and Rhete's still...doing...lots of stuff!

The Sockscast is back and ready to kick off 2015 as they get the ball-a-rollin' with a three-hour post-holiday poscast for you to get all nice and cozy to. Over the last two weeks Rhete has managed to play every single goddamn game EVER CREATED, John warps back to 1985 with gaming's most beloved franchise, and Polly has been in the same dungeon for almost twenty hours!

And here we are! The final Sockscast of 2014! The Game of the Year festivities come to their logical conclusion today with Polly, Rhete, and John counting down the top 5 games they played this year, pointing out a little disappointment here and there, going over the last haul of reader lists, and hopefully spreading some generally good feelings all around! Thank you to everybody that's stuck with us and guest hosted through this silly little podcast idea getting off the ground, and we'll catch you all in 2015!
