Pleasant Valley Assembly of God

This message has a number of components introducing an initiative of PVAG called the G90 Project. This project is to raise funds to provide a rescue home for women in India who have been enslaved in the sex slave industry of India. This message has a description of the project, testimony of one of our elders and a short message challenging the men of PVAG to raise up for this cause.

It's often easy to preach as message that centers on Jesus as the light of the world which He surely is. This message however, uses a religious man by the name of Nicodemus to remind us that Jesus is also the Light of the church. Nicodemus, a religious man, is told by Jesus that He is the Light that was sent into the world, but through three events, NIcodemus comes to see Him as the Light of the world. His journey is one that we all need to take.

Jesus declared Himself as I AM 7 times in the book of John. In one of the occasions He referred to Himself as the door that anyone can pass through. When we pass through the door that is Jesus we find what many of us have been looking for through other doors. Jesus declared Himself as the door, this message will challenge you to walk through the Great I AM - Jesus Christ.

King David faced an enemy that opposed him and his people. If he was victorious, then the people of God would be victorious. The first 5 verses of Psalm 20 are words of the people of God in prayer on behalf of their king. In it they prayed that King David would receive help from the sanctuary. His victory would become their victory. Likewise, we too, have a King who went into battle and His victory became our victory. This message will remind you of the victory that was afforded to each believer because of the triumph of Christ on the cross and through the empty tomb.

II Peter 3:4 says: "They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised?" Peter was talking about the question asked by scoffers and mockers concerning the second coming of Christ. The recent Harold Camping prediction has surely caused the return of Christ to be scrutinized by many. No doubt many who bought into his prediction are asking that question today. As well there are those who are mocking and scoffing at the notion. This message highlights Peter's word to believers on how they, as well as us today, handle the question and how they should live in waiting for God to fulfill His promise.

Everyone of us deal with a variety of distractions in our daily lives. This message follows 4 pairings of people in scripture that show how people have been distracted from their purpose throughout history just like we struggle with today.

Miracles come in all kinds of varieties. There are miracles of divine healing, financial provision and even divine protection to name a few. When a miracle comes everyone is in awe of the event itself and rightly so. However, at times, miracles are in the making long before the actual manifestation of the miracle. If you are in need of miracle this message will encourage you to see your miracle in the making.

They held a mock trial, condemned Him to death, crucified Him on a cross then buried Jesus in a tomb over which they attached the Roman Seal. The Roman Seal said contents belong to Rome and would be guarded by Rome. However, they failed to realize the Seal on the Inside was greater than the seal on the outside. This message is an inspiring insight into the power of God that lived in Christ Jesus, raised Him from the dead and today, lives in us, HIs believers.

Jesus wept as he overlooked the city because of it's lack of peace. As He did He spoke over it the one thing that would have brought peace to that city - accepting the time of His visitation. What a difference it would have made for the life of the city had they accepted HIm and recognized Him for exactly who He was. The same is true of our lives. Peace is a by-product of recognizing Him for who He really is - our Savior but not only that, Our King and Master. This message will challenge you to recognize His Lordship over your life.

The last of a four-part series in the book of Ruth this messages centers on our relationship with Grace. Boaz, the kinsman redeemer, sought a relationship with Ruth and was willing to pay the price for that relationship. It is an incredible picture of our relationship with our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. The message is a reminder of just exactly what we, as believers, have been redeemed from and what we have been redeemed into.

The third week in a four week series this message again uses the story of Ruth and Boaz to demonstrate a relationship between the redeemed and the Redeemer. In this message Ruth seeks covering under Boaz who is the source of grace in her life. Under his covering she finds more than she was looking for. Through this message you will be encouraged to find your shelter under the wings of grace.

The account of Boaz and Ruth is such a vivid portrayal of the relationship that believers should have with Christ, our redeemer. This message centers on Boaz's invitation to Ruth to come and eat from his table. It is a wonderful illustration of what we can expect to find when we choose to accept the invitation of our Redeemer. This message will challenge you to a deeper walk as you dine at the table of Grace.

Ruth went searching for food from a person in whose eyes she might find grace but what she found so much more. As a matter of fact it was grace who found her in the form of Boaz. Her marriage to Boaz birthed something through her that could only be birthed by being in covenant with grace. This message will challenge you to marry grace.

Why Does God Send The Fire

Anyone familiar with computers understands that there are certain automatic settings known as default settings that determine how the computer functions. The operator can cancel or override these settings. People as well, have been born with default settings that must be changed. God promises all through the scripture that we can change the default settings of our lives. Not only can they be changed but great blessing flow from the change.

We often desire God to be "rich" towards us but how often do we think of being "rich" toward Him? This message centers on the spirit of giving and two things that hinder the heart of giving. In order to have a giving spirit we must rid our hearts of greed and worry. It's a message that will inspire you to be the type of wild, free and unhindered giver that God wants His people to be.

This message followed an extremely powerful time during our morning services where people ministered to the financial needs of those around them. It was truly a time when "the sower and the reaper" rejoiced together. Through faithful, obedient and giving people needs of individuals were met in a powerful and heart-warming manner.

Many things in life are a representation of someone or something else. Today, we'll explore how important it is to adequately represent ourselves and Jesus Christ.
