On Easter we celebrate the fact that the tomb of Jesus is empty. However, the cross is also an empty place in that there will never be another sacrifice by which mankind can be saved. This messaged combines the message of the cross with the message of the resurrection to remind us as believers of the fullness we have because what Christ did through both. Truly, those two empty places enable us to live a full life today.

The Queen of Sheba came to King Solomon with hard questions and things upon her heart. He answered all her questions and she saw all of his splendor throughout his kingdom to which the Bible says: "her spirit left her". She was overwhelmed and breathless at his splendor. Jesus said in the gospels that "something greater than Solomon is here". Well, He is the one greater than Solomon and His splendor is greater than Solomon's. But when is the last time you have been breathless before the King? This message will encourage you to seek the King and HIs kingdom to the point of being breathless before the King.

Something Greater In your Midst

In this message we look at the familiar passage of Jesus walking on the water and ultimately calming the storm in the disciple's faces. The disciples were headed for a God-ordained destination on the other side of the sea when they were confronted with a "contrary" or "adversarial" wind in their face. The storm was opposing them from reaching their destination. However, it would be the visitation of God that would make all the difference for them. Likewise, we as believers have a God-ordained destination and we too have an adversary who doesn't want us to reach it. This message will encourage you to endure the storm knowing that God indeed will come to visit His people.

My Perspective

Matthew 15 gives an picture of two different types of people who approached Jesus. The first was a group of pharisees who came to Jesus with religious expectations based upon their traditions. They wanted to Jesus to mold his disciples into their religious agenda which Jesus rebuked. The Bible then says that he left that place and went to two Gentile cities where he was approached by a Canaanite woman with a daughter who was demon possessed. It is a stark contrast to the approach of the religious group. Using this as a backdrop this message challenges us, as believers, to focus our attention not on our man-made agenda but rather upon Jesus as the center of our faith. it is a prophetic picture of the type of church that Jesus is looking for today.

Most everybody has had a Jonah in their life who through their disobedience to God has created a storm for everybody around them. What do you do when you have a Jonah and the storm is raging? How do you deal with your Jonah? Through this message you will gain insight on dealing with your Jonah but also brings a challenge to the body of Christ to not be a "Jonah" in our world today.

Generally speaking our 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m services have the same message spoken in each. However, this particular Sunday the spirit of God directed a different message for the 10:45 a.m. service. The message used Isaiah 54 as a backdrop and highlighted God's promises based upon His covenant. Many people think they are unworthy of God's blessings or promises but the fact is that God keeps all of His promises when we choose to live in covenant with Him. He is the covenant God who never goes back on His word.

Jesus often taught through parables or stories that His listeners understood and could relate to. This message takes us through the life of Jesus in the book of Matthew and parallels it with an everyday activity, a traffic light, to represent how we are to view our life's journey.

Life brings with it a myriad of situations and circumstances that can cause some people to feel dirty or unworthy. This message conveys the idea that even though one might feel the stain of what someone may have done to them or things they have done, they aren't dirty. Many victims of abuse have been stained by someone else's sin against them but the truth is they are not dirty. The message is simple: You might be stained you are not dirty.

This message is a call to the body of Christ to be truly Uncommon in a common world. God called the priests of Israel from among the people to be uncommon in their midst. Using this as a basis this message will outline what God did in their lives to make them uncommon as well as challenge the believer to be an uncommon priest in the land today. God is looking for men, women, young and old who will be His uncommon vessels in the land of the common.

Life has a way of throwing situations at us that can cause a certain amount of uncertainty. Although our faith is strong and resolute there are those moments when the outcome of a situation is uncertain. During those times where do we gain strength to continue to go through it? Jeremiah 29:11, an infamous scripture, is one of those verses that gives an individual certainty in the midst of uncertainty. Using this scripture as the basis for this sermon this message will encourage you, no matter what you may be going through. Take heart… God has a plan for you.

When God gives a person a promise it is incumbent upon that person to have a response. How do we respond? Using the example of Joshua, this message deals with how I respond to a promise of God in my life. It deals with the areas that are my responsibility and the areas that are God's responsibility. You will be challenged to go to God and hear His promise for you life as well as encouraged to act upon that promise.

After being slaves in Egypt for roughly 400 years the people of God were getting ready to enter the promised land led by Joshua. Year after year they had wandered in the wilderness because of their parents rebellion. However God was getting ready to take them into the promised land. This year would be different. In Joshua chapter 1 God speaks to Joshua concerning this transition in his life. The next year of their life would be different. Using this as a backdrop this message highlights several principles for us to use in our life to ensure we walk into a year that has been different than the preceding.

Isaiah 9 is an infamous christmas season scripture declaring to Israel that a "child would be born, a son would be given" This Messianic prophecy is rich with prophetic promises that declare what the Messiah would do in the lives of the people of God. This message highlights three of those: Light in the darkness, An Increase of Joy and A Shattering of the Yoke of Bondage. This work done by the Christ is available to us today because He is still the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 says that Jesus would be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. This message focuses upon the last name and how He the, Prince of Peace brings peace into our lives. In a day when peace seems to be a commodity for individuals, families and even nations, this message brings out several pathways to finding the peace that only He can give.

What does hope look like? What is it based upon? This message seeks to inspire believers to live a life of hope that becomes a foundation for their entire life. Using David's Psalm 25 principles are shared on the basis of hope, the blessing of hope and the results that hope brings into our lives.

King Cyrus is an interesting study in the scripture in that he was God's chosen vessel to ultimately work on behalf of God's people. God had a purpose for his life that was prophetically connected to the purpose for God's people. Like Cyrus, we too have divine prophetic purpose for our lives that ultimately is for the benefit of God's people. Through this message you will be inspired to view your life as a prophetic plan of God for the exact moment that you live but in addition speaks long after you are gone.
