Christ's resurrection from the dead is more than a fact of history. It is our hope as Christians. We too will rise and will be like Him.

Our own righteousness is not enough to atone for our sins. Only the righteousness of Jesus, received by faith, will do.

The communion of saints means that our relationship with our fellow Christians is literally larger than life!

Jesus founded the church to act as His body so that His work on earth would continue through His people.

The Lord Jesus Christ came into this world as no one else before or since. Though Mary was a virgin, she conceived the Son of God when the Holy Spirit overshadowed her. Thus He was fully God and fully human.

Jesus Christ is the only Son of God and Lord of all!

God reveals Himself to us as our Father and seeks a personal relationship.

This is the first sermon in a twelve-week series on the Apostles' Creed. The first two words, I believe, are the most important. Everything that follows is meaningless without faith.

In the very last words of the Bible Jesus promises that He is coming quickly. Don't grow weary of waiting. He will come in the fullness of time!

God promised to send a Savior, and He did- when the fullness of time had come, and not a moment before. We need to learn to wait on God, even if He seems slow to us.

When Jesus was born, He was God in a diaper. He left all the power of His divinity behind and was just like us. He could die, and did- for us to forgive us for our sins.

John ends his first letter by affirming that Jesus Christ has overcome the world, and so can we. No matter what our circumstances, we are victors in Christ!

John tells us that truth matters, and so does love. They are the two sides of the same coin. You can't have one without the other. If we don't love, we don't know God, because God is love.

God made us in HIs image, then re-makes us into the image of His Son Jesus Christ. But if we really love Jesus and are born again after His image, we will love what He loves and hate what He hates.

John warns us not to rely on the things of this world for happiness and meaning in life. They cannot give these things and will one day pass away. Always look to Jesus Christ. Accept no substitute!
