    22/03/2020 Duración: 15min

So the globe is on lockdown. Everyone I it's scared and those in power don't know what to do. YouTube, Google, Facebook, Instagram, and the rest of the gd internet is constantly keeping me informed about the pandemic that is only comparable to one that happened over 200 years ago. also I've got me emails from every company I've ever subscribed to telling me that they are closing down or taking extra precautions for this pandemic which is only more revealing to the economic impact that this will have. YouTube content is down and also everything mentioning the virus is being struck by the dreaded algorithm. • Ep. 24: Future of Virtual Reality on YouTube

    06/03/2020 Duración: 14min

In this podcast episode I discuss "Project Witness," the VR film anchors the viewer in the experience of an incarcerated child. You’re able to see and hear the experience of being in solitary confinement from the viewpoint of a child in an adult prison. YouTube is a powerful platform for so much more than entertainment — from advocacy to education and awareness — that is open and accessible by everyone. VR is a unique format to pull the viewer into the story. The film is available to everyone on YouTube, and can be watched on desktop or via a VR headset. We will also feature Project Witness at a number of YouTube Spaces and events throughout the year. Project Witness is one part of YouTube’s ongoing criminal justice initiatives. On February 6, we released an episode of BookTube featuring Bryan Stevenson, based on his best-selling memoir “Just Mercy,” which is now also a feature film. And in the next few weeks we will release a documentary that explores the challenges of the cash bail system. --- This ep

  • Ep. 23: Grace Helbig | Youtuber Deep-Dive

    17/02/2020 Duración: 39min

Grace Helbig is the YouTuber (www.youtube.com/itsgrace) who got her start from a company called my damn channel who contracted her to make 5 videos a week for 5 years and eventually she spun it into her own career which includes books, podcast live shows, internet shows, television shows, and movies! I think she is a swell human being who is a lovable idiot. (She knows what it means) if you have no idea what Grace-facing is then just don't listen to this podcast. she also has her very own podcast called "not too deep with Grace Helbig" and does another podcast with her friend Mamrie Hart called "this might get weird" she has amazing comedic talent and also is so genuine I absolutely adore her and thank you Grace for revitalizing my podcast. • Ep. 21: Defunctland | YouTuber Deep-Dive

    17/02/2020 Duración: 40min

In this podcast episode I talk about one of my favorites channels on the platform and one of the most informative channels on the platform Defunctland by Kevin Perjurer has to be one of the most well articulate, creative, and visually stimulating channels on the platform at this current moment who are doing video essays. I don't do him any justice in this episode because his videos speak for themselves but also the subject matter is very dependent on what your interests are. If theme park history or company history is not in your interest or wheelhouse then his channel may not be for you but I do still urge you to go check him out and watch at least one of his videos. You can also send me a voicemail tell me what you think about him if you just found out that he existed at anchor.fm/ youcast --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/electr0nicus/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/elect

  • Ep. 20: It's 2020, the world is burning, so let's talk.

    17/02/2020 Duración: 38min

In this episode I take the approach of Grace helbig and do a stream-of-consciousness podcast episode about some things on the platform that I wanted to talk about but didn't really necessarily warrant its own episode and there are some other tangents, just about life in general, because YouTube is basically real life and real life is basically YouTube. I have been itching for some creators to respark some of the love and joy I used to feel towards the videos on there. With the algorithm being so rigid it seems like the videos that are more robotic in their approach are more easily to be translated by the algorithm. And in turn are able to make a profit. I also talked about some of the American political bulshit that is going on right now. Did you hear that our president is being impeached? He is the third one in our nation's history. And probably the most guilty one. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https:

  • Ep. 19: Can It Be a Trend if it was Bought? I'm looking at you Disney & Viacom

    17/02/2020 Duración: 27min

YouTube has changed a lot over the decade but none more so than the Trending page. A very influential page once used to shoutout small creators who used the website. Now it is a platform for the big corporations to utilize in promoting their whatever. Late Night, Sports, Talk Shows, News. Its the same thing day after day. But over this past year, I've noticed YouTube making a change in the trending page to have more variety. But it still makes me skeptical if the trending page that I see if it is the same one you and everyone else sees. And of course, how they even go about finding trending videos is a mystery few will know or understand. • Ep. 18: YouTube in 2019 Was a Mess

    17/02/2020 Duración: 20min

In this episode, I talk about some of the moments that were big on YouTube or around the world in 2019. Theses were cultural moments that really shed a light on the pitfalls of humanity. In hindsight, 2019 wasn't that great but this year is going to be rad. Hopefully adult content will start to make a resurgence since YouTube can't advertise to kids anymore. PewDiePie vs. T Series happened this year and Tati Westbrook decided to come for blood and made the cancel culture mob attack James Charles after some misleading accusations about his behavior all of which cultivated into a storm of awful. Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star dropped the "Conspiracy" Pallette and filmed the process. Oh, and Mr. Beast and the YouTube community got the world to donate $20M+ to the National Arbor Day Foundation. $1=1 Tree planted and he's claimed to continue this generosity year after year.  The roaring 20's of the new millennia starts NOW! • Ep. 17: Where are all the creators on YouTube?

    17/02/2020 Duración: 19min

I have been noticing that over the years YouTube is more focused on corporate intrigue rather than individual creators for their platform. though they have made some Publix strides to men this issue it is very clear to see that YouTube's priorities have changed over the years and the creators are no longer the number one priority but rather the advertisers are. And why wouldn't they be YouTube as a company has to make money but I do think it is important to make sure that those who are making your money are treated to the best of their ability. and I've noticed that I can't find individual creators as much as I can find more structured and formulaic content. I miss the old days that is all and this is a quick podcast for me to vent. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/electr0nicus/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/electr0nicus/support

  • Ep. 16: Susan Wojcicki | Becoming The First Face of YouTube

    17/02/2020 Duración: 19min

Susan wojcicki has taken on the role as the CEO of YouTube while simultaneously agreeing to become the face of the company as well. Like Mark Zuckerberg before her, and with some comparisons to both Michael Eisner and Bob Iger from the Disney company, I dive into why it's important and interesting that YouTube have a face of their company at this pivotal time. • Ep. 15: YouTube Rewind is Dead

    17/02/2020 Duración: 12min

YouTube Rewind 2019 was grim this year and shows an end of an era that can no longer satisfy the masses. I hope YouTube allows this to be the video that they let it die.  ~C --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/electr0nicus/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/electr0nicus/support

  • Ep. 14: Is Britney Spears Good as Hell? & Lizzo is Stronger Than Yesterday

    17/02/2020 Duración: 23min

In this episode, I discuss some of the YouTube habits I've gotten into which range from theme park videos, docuseries, and Oscar nominees. I think it is interesting how you can only get one form of a video if you tend to watch that genre more and more and I have been trying to curate my YouTube feed a bit differently for content that I enjoy and would like to talk about. So far it is going great. ~C --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/electr0nicus/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/electr0nicus/support

  • Ep. 13: Be Kind Rewind | YouTuber Deep-Dive

    17/02/2020 Duración: 20min

In this episode, I dive into one of my newfound favorite YouTube channels! Be Kind Rewind is a channel that discusses the Best Actress Award and its recipients. It's an absolutely lovely channel that is very informative without being judgemental, too opinionated, or uneducated. This is a HUGE recommendation for me and she only has about 97K subscribers so go show her some support! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/electr0nicus/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/electr0nicus/support
