Red Treasure Rising

In RTR #12, Collin goes solo and tells the stories and meaning behind the writing of Red Treasure’s song “You Can Go Home Again.” He wrote the song in 2012, 3 years before Red Treasure formed.

On RTR #11, Collin interviews Corey Landis, who plays piano on both of the band’s first 2 EP’s. They discuss Corey’s first solo album “Feast of Scraps,” and then Corey tells the story of how he met and came to work with legendary producer Geoff Emerick at LAFX, where both Red Treasure EP’s would eventually be recorded.

On RTR #10, Gabe joins Collin for the first segment, and they recall how they first met and formed the band. In the second portion of the episode, Collin chats with Emma, Joel and Spencer, students at the University of Southern California, about their experience of music on campus, and how rock music fits into their world in 2019.

On RTR #9, Collin rejoins the conversation with Gabriel’s friends Scott and Mike, as they continue and eventually finish telling the tale of Dear Silence, the band Gabriel was in before Red Treasure. Mike talks about his favorite punk rock moment that occurred during one of the band’s live performances.

On RTR #8, Collin talks about the Release Show for the new EP Dark Red Soul. Drummer Gabriel’s lifelong friends Scott and Mike then return to talk about the rise and fall of the band Gabriel was in before Red Treasure, Dear Silence. This episode is Part One of Two.

On RTR #7, Collin gives an update on recent shows, the upcoming EP release and show, and the awesome thing the fans did. He then interviews his friend and his former Life Coach, Stephanie, and they recall the strangest and most wonderful moment that happened around one of Red Treasure’s songs.

RTR #6: Collin and Gabe discuss songs by The Cure, Lit, and Cage the Elephant. Guest Erick Lopez and Collin discuss the homelessness epidemic in LA, hip hop, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. And the tragic injury that ended his career as a concert violinist.

On RTR #5, Gabe is off for the week so Collin chats a second time with their friend Kate. They discuss the rise of Silicon Valley, the tech boom in LA known to some as Silicon Beach, and what we all lost when MySpace died. The reason behind the unusual name of Kate’s musical project is also revealed.

On RTR #4, Collin and Gabe wax rhapsodically about metronomes and click tracks. Collin chats with their friend Kate, who talks about how Orange County isn’t actually right next to LA, and reveals the big surprise she had in store for someone on her college graduation day.

On RTR #3, Red Treasure super-fans Patricia and Shawny chat with Collin about Long Beach, playing the violin and cello, and what happens in LA when Mexico plays in the World Cup.

On RTR #2, Gabriel’s long-time friends Scott Hosmer and Mike Persi stop by to chat with Collin about music, videos, the bands of the their past, and a special gift, discovered long ago in a church attic.

On RTR #1, Collin and Gabe discuss their day trying find a place in downtown LA to have an important band meeting to set their goals for 2019. No pigeons were harmed in the making of this episode.
