Have you ever been asked about certain passages in Scripture that seem to contradict themselves? For one who is trying to justify a life without Christ, this is often a key element of their argument. If the Bible, which claims to be God's inerrant word, makes a statement which cannot be true due to it contradicting another statement, then the claim of inerrancy falls apart and God's trustworthiness is broken. Over the next few episodes we will take a look at this subject and will dive into specific arguments that are made to try and discredit the truth of Scripture. We know that all Scripture is in fact given by God and we believe it to be 100% truthful and accurate in all it says. Thank you for still listening!!  In this episode we talk about our least favorite Thanksgiving foods, how one of us thinks pineapple is the devils fruit, how deodorant should never be put on at night and we offer our thoughts on proper and improper prayer.

Two episodes ago we started a discussion on deconstruction, noting that as followers of Christ it is easy to doubt our faith but that my relationship with Christ should not be dependent on human feelings or emotion. In this episode we continue the discussion, talking about our response when we are hurt by the Church and about things in our faith that do in fact need to be deconstructed. We talk about the difference between deconstruction and rejection of faith, which although used synonymously are two different things. And just for fun we take some shots at those who would say popping lice is animal abuse in our super mega rant.

Every now and then you need to just skip the meaningful content and rant on something. And when more than one of us come with the same topic to rant on, it becomes a brand new super mega rant!!  Join us for a few minutes of mindless banter where we talk fender benders, pumpkin spice, and whether or not "Good question!!" is an appropriate response to someone asking a question in conversation.

In this episode we start tackling the topic of deconstruction. We discuss what it is, some things that may contribute to it in a person, and what we should do when faced with questions that seem too difficult to answer. This is part one of a multi-part discussion as it is a very weighty and important topic. 

With the advent of a widely available vaccine that is intended to bring us closer to the end of our dealings with a global health crisis come the ones who are in staunch opposition to this vaccine. Some have even gone so far to say it is spoken of in Revelation as the mark of the beast. Could this be true? The guys tackle this question and discuss what's at the foundation of the mark John writes about in Scripture. 

In this episode the guys talk about the controversy surrounding Lil' Nax X and his recent fashion statement. How does the Gospel influence our response to this controversy? Should we be outraged or compassionate? Should we condemn or be heartbroken? Having just come through Holy Week and the celebration of Christ's death and resurrection we are reminded that the Gospel sees all men in the same light; broken and condemned without the saving power of Jesus. In our second episode of Fluent Grace Preaches, Tyler shares a sermon from Matthew 27:45-66, the account of Jesus's death and burial. More than any other time in history, this stands alone as the single darkest moment; when the Son of God was killed by the very ones He created. This however is not the end of the story; because light is never brighter than after great darkness.

In our first episode of Fluent Grace Preaches, Tim shares a sermon from 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 where Paul encourages the church at Corinth to look beyond their current, earthly dwelling to an eternal home with Christ. We are currently in a season of great trial and hardship, but for the one who is in Christ there is so much beyond this life that we should look forward to. It's been a while since we've been able to publish an episode but WE'RE BACK!! At least until we get swallowed up by school again. Clearly the biggest thing on everyone's radar at this point is the Presidential election. How does the Gospel affect our response to this political season? In this episode which was recorded after the first Presidential debate we talk about Gospel-centered ways we should think about politics, especially in a tense time such as this.

What is a good response to someone, particularly a student, who is struggling with this hard season? In this episode we give a response to that, as well as rip on Pepsi, Covid parties, and Collin for not being here.

This year is only getting crazier and in this episode we continue talking about a Gospel response to the things we are living through. Nothing is going to change until the Gospel changes us, so how should our perspectives be shaped by what Christ did for us?

As we continue living in uncertain times of quarantine in a global pandemic, there is a reality far greater than any virus; the reality of the Gospel. Jesus is still good, is still God and is still with us as we navigate what has been to date a pretty nutty year.

We're a lot better in person, but since we're quarantined like everyone else we gave the virtual episode a shot. In this episode we wonder what the Pope would do after retirement, we come up with an appropriate punishment for toilet paper hoarders, and Tim's phone dies so Tyler and Collin handle the outro. But at least it only takes twenty minutes.

In this episode Tim and Tyler continue their discussion on depression and how the Gospel should impact our perception of it. This was recorded a couple weeks ago before the widespread response to the Coronavirus, so we do not talk specifically about it in the episode. Tune in next time as we tie in our continued talk on depression with the historic rise of the global pandemic.
