Just as the Israelites faced 400 years of oppression and slavery in Egypt, many Black Americans have endured generations of systemic injustice, poverty, and violence. I emphasize that during the time of the Exodus, many descendants of slaves had forgotten the God of their ancestors, which parallels the feelings of disconnection and doubt that has risen in our community today. We are the modern-day Israelites. I say “modern-day” because, when we embrace the truth, we often speak of God in the context of our ancestors. Yet, we sometimes overlook the fact that God is with us today. I want to remind you, brothers and sisters, that our stories are being written right now. I wrote a book recently called "The Blessings of Gods Laws; Affirmations" it is an affirmation book of many of Gods' Laws. For example: "The blessing of the Lord makes me rich, and He adds no sorrow with it." Proverbs 10:22 The blessings of the lord makes me rich, in the book I write out the blessings of Gods laws in first person, as if God is speaking directly to you and me, (WHICH HE IS). Honestly, I have found reading the blessings of God Laws from a first person point of view to be truly therapeutic. Ironically, in Ethiopia, (a place known for having the oldest churches and biblical manuscripts). There are many crosses on their building and in their places of worship. However, in the west, many of us who have just came to the truth within the past 75 years, we deny the cross. We claim it to be a graven image, all while those who have the written accounts and those who have studied the scriptures for years still carry the cross. Now, revelation is real, and it’s obvious that there are things about God and his word, that has been revealed to us, that was never revealed to them in 1,000 years until this day. 'Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. ' 1 John 3:4 the Bible clearly and plainly states that "Sin" is the breaking of Gods Laws. Nonetheless, throughout the history of faith and believers the definition of "Sin" remains a topic of controversy and confusion. ““If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, ” Leviticus 5:17 Again, the Bible stating that sin is doing anything forbidden of the lords commands.
