The running shoe company comes out with a new model and it's not the same shoe! NOT AT ALL! It fits completely different! And not in a good way. Everything you loved about this shoe is gone! It's a completely different shoe! Why did the shoe company betray you like that? Because that's what it feels like, betrayal. This week, I write an open letter to shoe companies stating a few reasons, the above is just one, why we runners get frustrated with shoe companies. Some Uncomfortable Truths

Don't Push Yourself Too Hard!

Unfortunately, I still hear it and see runners suggesting that they're not doing enough. Well, first of all, who are they to judge another runner and second, anyone who says that to another runner usually is trying to sell something, be it a book, personal training, running coach services or something else. With all we do, finding time to run is going big. We're not fulltime runners, so to make time out of our busy days to run or a herculean effort. And what happens if we put everything into going "big"? I go over that too. Overtraining has a lot of undesirable effects. I find it interesting that those are never covered by the Go Big crowd.
