Today we sit down with Dr. Kat Mulski, Educator and Assistant Guide with Vancouver Island Fly Fishing. Kat spends a lot on time on the water with her best buddy Nora ( the English bulldog) but she also teaches a Carihi Secondary program which teaches high school students to cultivate a love for the outdoors while learning the art and sport of fly fishing with literary, entomology and conservation. Today we dive head first into film season. We sit down with acclaimed director R A Beattie as he joins the show from Bend, Oregon. Off the Grid Studios latest films featuring Silent Spotter which is centered on Tommy Batun in Xcalak, Mexico and his passion for guiding for permit. Tommy's story is one of resilience and the power of seeing the world differently. R A takes us on an epic journey, fly fishing for Permit with an unforgettable team. Sarah along with Andrew Murphy and Kyle Schaefer have started a lodge at the Nadeau House on the Cascapedia River. They offer some incredible trips for Atlantic Salmon, Striped Bass and Sea-run Brook Trout. We learn all about the fly fishing in the area and do a deep dive into Sara's Fly Fishing story.
