After some culotte adorned rest and relaxation, James & Kevin return -- recording in person! -- to review trailers, figuring things probably wouldn't be too crazy while they were gone. After a quick Courtesy Honk for Justice League (something something society), the boys decide if they'll give any mercy to Cruella, and test their might on Mortal Kombat. Then, with weeks of hyping it up, James and Kevin see Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, and decide if the trailer's idiosyncratic style of humor works for longer than two minutes.

The boys?! Unfiltered?! But what of their, "Um's"?! It's a risk they're willing to take, especially because they have a lot of great content to dissect. After questioning the utility of a sizzle reel after seeing Netflix and HBO Max's offerings for the year, James & Kevin head into the teaser trailer showroom to bask in the weirdness of Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Rey. Then, they have a taste of Cherry and spend a night at Willy's Wonderland.

"Woof, what a year." "Lemon, it's January." Right, plenty happened already, so the boys take a breather before giving a passing glance at Coming 2 America (... are you absolutely sure you want to come right now...), check in with their favorite pasta-making couple Malcom & Marie, and, for something different, go get Locked Down. Then, to escape a little, the boys leave this plane and head to a spiritual one to discuss Soul. Will this finally be the Pixar trailer that the boys like in retrospect? Will they latch on to the film's message, which seems like "pleasant Albert Camus"? Will they realize the first film they reviewed in 2020 was Cats, and the first film they reviewed in 2021 also heavily features a VFX cat? Give 'em an hour, and they'll answer all that and more.

In a year of "trying times", these were the trailers that tried... and succeeded... at making 2020 just a little better. From Palm Springs to Deerskin, from the bizarre to the goofy fun, these were the trailers that resonated the most with James and Kevin! There are plenty of firsts to be had in these Top 5's (well, beyond the trailers that got first place, anyway), so tune in to hear which Never Need to See trailer wound up on one of these lists, and more!
