So this is the mix I played for Twisted Elegance’s 18th Birthday Livestream and has been exclusive to Manchester Made Me Funky, but I wanted to share with you, my podcast listeners too. The mix takes you through some of my fave tracks from the mid nineties, influenced by the likes of Allister Whitehead, Jeremy Healy and Graeme Park and clubs like Cream, Moneypenny’s and Peruvia to name but a few, that have influenced me as a DJ over the years, as I went on to play for those brands and then the mix progressively brings you to the wonder years of Twisted Elegance and some of my big tracks during those 5 amazing years at Ampersand, including some of my own personal edits.This truly is nearly 4 hours of funky/ vocal goodness and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did putting it together.Now clear away the furniture, apply ear protection to children , granny and any pets, turn the volume button to full, press play and let your kitchen disco begin!

Tribal/ big room house, with a touch of breaks has always been a fave sound for me, best heard in the likes of the Ibizan church, Pacha, at Roger Sanchez’s Release Yourself nights, when the man himself would perform his legendary 7 hour sets that would take you on a real journey. With tribal beats and the big room sound starting to come through again I thought I would do a mix capturing the that sound over the last 4 decades. Enjoy x
