Marc’s guest today is Matteo Ascheri of Cantine Ascheri, a winery and hospitality complex in Piemonte, in northwest Italy.  More about today’s winery:   The Ascheri winery was originally established in La Morra at the dawn of the 19th century. It was there, where today there still exists a place called "Ascheri", that the first vines were planted and the first wines produced. In those years, the most important town for the production of Barolo, the best known wine of this area, was Bra, due to its good connections with Turin. Because of this, in 1880 the cellars were moved from La Morra to Bra, where they are still located today. They are the only remaining cellars which can boast this beautiful and ancient heritage. To the La Morra vineyards were added the vineyards of Serralunga d’Alba, Verduno and Bra, with the philosophy that only the maximum respect for their management can create great wines. I
