Welcome to episode 2143 of the Italian Wine Podcast, and episode 163 of Wine, Food & Travel With Marc Millon. Marc’s guest today is Vito Senatore of Senatore Vini in Calabria, a fourth generation family-owned winery.  The winery’s Cirò Dop Rosato Vino Biologico Puntalice 2023 was awarded the Best Organic Rosè Wine 2024 at https://www.5starwines.it.  More about today’s winery:   It was at the dawn of the 1900s that the grandfathers Francesco Senatore and Giuseppe Sculco founded their wine cellar located in the district "Corfu Vecchiu" in Cirò Marina. In the 1940s the ancient stone cellar in the district "Corfu Novu" was built which was for about half a century the place of business. In 2005 the four brothers, Raffaele, Salvatore, Giuseppe and Franco Senatore, established today's cellar in the district "San Lorenzo" of Cirò Marina, a modern and technologic winery of 4500mq, equipped with the most innovative vinification systems and wine-making machinery.
