Homi Ford is known for his sexually explicit lyrics as well as his unique, Wu-tang, style of dressing. The Street Legacy of Larry “King Larry” Hoover. TopicTuesday episode 6. Larry Hoover was born 11/30/1950 in Jackson, MS. Larry Hoover moved to Chicago. IL when he was only 4 years old with his family. It didn’t take King Larry didn’t take long to get acclimated to the Chicago, gang, style of living made popular by Italian monsters in the late 20’s. By the age of 13 King Larry was running with a street gang named “The Supreme Gangsters” committing petty crimes such as theft and muggings. King Larry quickly graduated from petty crimes to shootings and assaults that resulted in him rising through the ranks in the gang. By the late 60’s and beginning of the 70’s Hoover was the leader of the Supreme gangsters and was working with another young gang leader, David Barksdale, to unify the rival gangs and create the gang known as the “Black Gangster Disciple Nation” lead by the three kings, King Larry, King Shortie, and King David. He moved to Memphis, Tennessee when he was just two years old and quickly started getting raised by his grandmother. Big Meech and his brother Terry “Southwest T” Flenory started selling 50 bags of cocaine in the late 80’s while still in high school. TopicTuesday episode II | The Legacy of Alpo Martinez Albert “Alpo” Martinez was born June 8, 1966 in east Harlem aka Spanish Harlem. Alpo grew his fame and infamy during the height of the 1980’s cocaine trade in Harlem NY with others such as AZ & Rich Porter. Alpo was known for his flash along with his partner in crime Rich Porter, the legend has it they had a total of 30 foreign cars between the two and they weren’t even able to legally drink yet, what a time to be alive in New York. Alpo’s story turns for the violence when Rich Porter is found dead early in 1990 and Alpo is rumored to have been involved in it. From that point on Alpo’s illegal drug operations shifted its focus to trafficking cocaine in D.C and this is when the Alpo story starts to get very bloody.
