The Auckland Food Show is a huge annual event for the city, and passionate foodies. We are over halfway through New Zealand Water Safety Month and tragically since the campaign started six people have fatally drowned in preventable incidents.  In 2020, despite the COVID-19 lockdown at the end of last summer 54 people have died in the water in preventable incidents*. In 2019 there were 82 preventable drowning fatalities.  Water Safety Month is an initiative of the Safer Boating Forum and ran for the first time in 2019. The preliminary results for the Cannabis referendum show that in response to the question "Do you support the proposed Cannabis Legalisation and Control Bill?" 46.1% voted yes & 53.1% voted no. On Friday, the Preliminary results of the End of Life Choice referendum & Cannabis legalisation and control referendum were released, with the final results for both of the referendums and General Election to be released this Friday 6 November 2020. The preliminary result for the End of Life Choice referendum showed that New Zealanders voted overwhelmingly in favour with 65.2% voting yes & 33.8% voting no, on the question "Do you support the End of Life Choice Act 2019 coming into force?"
