Julia Yarbrough, a 23-year-old resident of Sharpsburg, talks about her journey thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail from start to finish.  Yarbrough spent six months on the trail and in spite of a number of challenges that faced her down, including a battle with Lyme disease, made it all the way to Maine.

Derrick Teagle, founder of Empowered 4 Life, comes by to talk about the group's various outreach efforts, including an upcoming  annual golf tournament to benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Teagle is a lifelong resident of Coweta and shares his unique perspective of athletics and mentorship.

Local author Keith Dunnavant's latest book "Speed" explores the life of legendary test pilot Bob Gilliland, known best for his pioneering work with the iconic SR-71 Blackbird. Dunnavant talks about his writing process and spending time with Gilliland, a member of the National Aviation Hall of Fame.

After a 48-year career in with the Newnan Police Department, Chief Douglas "Buster" Meadows will officially retire. He's been with the Newnan Police Department in some form or fashion since 1973, including as a police chief for the last 19 years. In this episode, Meadows shares some of his fondest memories in his role as a public servant and what he has planned for the future. 

Foundation Church lead pastor Clint Nolder talks about his personal journey to Newnan and the community outreach that his church is involved in.

Newnan entrepreneurs Kurt Sills and Jesse Frei are the founders of Blue Alpha, a Coweta-based company that makes tactical belts. Kurt and Jesse have been involved in a number of community outreach projects over the last few years, most recently including tornado cleanup and paying  up to $25,000 total in deductibles for first responders affected by the storm. 

In the latest issue of Newnan Coweta Magazine, we’re focusing on the work of local artists and one of those is Game Master Sculptor Brian Collin, whose business, Creature Curation, was formed to showcase the fantastical World of Revilo. A member of the Newnan-Coweta Art Association, Brian says role playing in general is a great way for people to learn to use their imagination, think on their feet, and interact with a diverse group of people who don’t always have the same ideas.

The art of blacksmithing has a long, rich history but due to technological advances, some traditional arts like blacksmithing are in danger of dying out; however, artisans like Sharpsburg's Michael Sebacher keep these arts alive today. Newnan resident Mike Stiles recently spent time at Piedmont Newnan Hospital after being diagnosed with COVID-19. In this episode, he talks about his experience with coronavirus and what truly matters in the end. 

Steve Quesinberry, head of the Newnan High School history department, has spent nearly a decade attempting to preserve the memories of the 23 local men who were lost to the Vietnam War.He hopes to connect with families and friends of those Cowetans killed in action from the Vietnam War. "I felt that if I didn’t do something, they would be forgotten as family members gradually passed away from that time period,” he said.
