Jesus came to earth with a mission, and it was the greatest mission of all mankind. But then, He commissioned us for a mission, and we find that mission in John 14:12. "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father."  Jesus is saying that the work of the church is exactly the same as the work He came to do! The purpose and mission of the church is to do what Jesus did when He lived on earth If you believe in Jesus, John 14:12 is talking about you. You're supposed to do the works that Jesus did.
