When was the last time you really listened to someone--without thinking about what to say next, or glancing at your phone, or interrupting to offer your opinion? But why would you? You see we’re taught to speak up, speak out, use our voice, say what we think, share from the heart. And we do. What we don’t do is listen. And to be fair...no one is listening to us either. But does what anyone have to say matter if no one is listening to anyone but themselves?

We’ve been talking about Jesus coming into this world in the midst of all the craziness back then to teach us that there was a better way of doing it. Of living here on earth. That He came to bring us this incredible gift called GRACE. A GRACE that empowers us to overcome the HURTS, PAINS & DISAPPOINTMENTS of life. A GRACE that Empowers Us to Overcome Our Pride. A GRACE that Empowers Us to Overcome Our Past. A GRACE that Empowers Us to Overcome Our Fears.

I think we can all agree that even though there’s been progress in our world...here in the US, in CA, in the LA county...meaning that the world we live in is not exactly running like of spring of 2020... but somehow there still confusion, chaos, misunderstandings and tension all around us and all of that can be somewhat overwhelming to say the least. And Jesus came into this world in the midst of it all to teach us that there was a better way of doing it. Of living here on earth. He came to bring back something that was lost….GRACE.

With all the Covid lockdowns, political mayhem, racial tension, economic implosion, cancel culture... things can seem a bit out of whack… maybe even confusing and overwhelming at times. We’re living in a land overrun by angry opinions & divisive declarations. This can’t be God’s hope for humanity. Jesus entered into the chaos of his day to demonstrate a better way to be in & see the world. He invited his followers to help him bring Heaven to Earth; To restore something lost in a Garden long ago: GRACE.

As Christians, Easter Sunday is all about celebrating the resurrection of our Savior Jesus who rose from the dead 3 days after he was nailed to the cross, died and was buried in a tomb. And because of this incredible miracle, we get to experience his love, hope, joy, mercy and grace. A grace that empowers us to overcome the HURTS, PAINS & DISAPPOINTMENTS of life.

This is a series about money and the fact that we are convinced that we’d be better off if we had a whole lot more of it. But Jesus had some surprising things to say about money. So what would happen if we practiced what he preached?

We’re definitely convinced we’d be better off if we had a whole lot more of it. But Jesus had some surprising things to say about money. So what would happen if we practiced what he preached? Every pastor I know has had countless counseling sessions where someone sits down in their office, sighs, & says, “My husband/wife   just left me, & I didn’t even know there was a problem.” You see, their partner had stuffed and sidelined their feelings for so long, they had no idea how to start the conversation, so they just left. Unfortunately, this happens all the time.

Most relationships start off full of passion and possibility, but end up dying slow, painful deaths. We find ourselves obsessing over our relational autopsy, but the cause of death is a complete mystery to us. With a little detective work, we often tremble when we come to realize that we are guilty of the crime. We didn’t intend to, but we secretly sabotaged our own story. So what if you could investigate the death of your relationships before they die? What if you could see where the story is headed and change the ending now? Would that be of help?

But as so many things in our lives have changed in the last 12 months, what if what we knew as normal no longer exists? What if, in our pursuit of normal, we miss out on some important growth? Maybe what we knew as normal isn’t even what’s best for us? Yes; we knew normal, but maybe it’s time to know more. With this series we’re hoping to highlight some of the cracks that were made (or discovered) during the 2020 pandemic and everything that ensued. Because let’s be real real here… Relationships were impacted, finances were strained, faith was rocked, and we lost all concept of time and proper attire for our zoom meetings.
