Here's the thing….We all want happy, healthy relationships—especially with those closest to us. But that's easier said than done. Making real relationships work is…well….real work. And at times we may get a glimpse of WHAT we need to do, but we’re not exactly sure HOW to do it. Some of us didn’t grow up with the greatest examples to follow. Maybe you yourself have noticed a handful of the relational instincts you inherited have been unhelpful in the past. So, what if you didn’t have to repeat the same patterns handed down to you? What if you could do better? What if God Himself was willing to show you HOW? Over these next 4 weeks, I want to give you teachings & tools to enable you to construct healthier home lives. That’s our goal. A better “you” equates to a better “we” at home, at work and at play.

So, here’s the idea behind this series: It’s less a group of teachings I’M going to give than a group of challenges that WE’RE going to take. Here’s why: Because faith requires action, we have to do something with our beliefs in order for them to make a difference. James 2:22 22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. We all have certain things we know we’re going to need to do to grow spiritually, but because we know they’re going to stretch us, we stall. Certain steps just feel extra intimidating. But everything is less scary when you’re surrounded by people you trust who are willing to support you by doing it with you. Hebrews 10:24 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. How many of you have been part of a team? Whether that be a sports team or an organization or a unit at work or school? If you have then you would definitely agree that the odds are in your favor at being more successful together, as part of the team,

This series title actually comes from a piece of Hebrew poetry… Song of Solomon 2:15 15 Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard of love, for the grapevines are blossoming! (03) The whole book of Song of Solomon is an allegory about life and love. In this part of the poem, we’re told there’s something that can ruin both. But it’s not necessarily what we would expect. If your life isn’t going the way you want it to and you’re not sure why, it could be that you’re looking for a big thing when it’s really a small thing or a series of small things that’s actually holding you back.

This series is all about listening or lack there of when it comes to listening. So how do we change? How do we get better at listening? For the sake of our relationships with our loved ones.

This series focuses on the poor job we do at listening to others and what steps we can take to be better and do better for the people we love and care about. To better our relationships. So the main question is... how do we change? How do we get better at listening?
