  • What Does "Getting In Your Own Way" Even Mean?

    23/08/2018 Duración: 34min

Have you ever heard a self care guru say, “Stop getting in your own way” ? And has that ever irked you - not because of them, but because you want to know HOW you’re getting in your own way? Yeah. Me too. So this week, allow me to share a very #notperfect story (involving a Starbucks barista) that is a PRIME example of me getting in my own way…. Things to expect in this week’s episode: I realized while recording that I made a VERY #notperfect error while typing the show notes for last week…. I share with you how I haaaaate getting home at a stupid late hour. How I learned the names of nearly every waiter and hotel staff member while I was on vacation... Sponsors! Even with our mentors, we see them as more financially stable than us - but do we know for certain how they’re feeling with things like family?? Or with celebrities - sure, man have career fulfillment. But what about relationship fulfillment? Are they getting enough real love and attention, even from their friends? Today I’m going to share three things that make me really uncomfortable whenever I hear the phrase “Things are going so well for you!” There is no such thing as a perfect life. We all just handle these things differently. Thanks for listening :)   Tony Recommends…. Audible: Listen to the books we talk about on

  • 3 Ways to Get Through a Tough Time

    09/08/2018 Duración: 26min

I get it. There are days where this “motivation stuff” just isn’t helpful. Days where you just don’t feel like being in a “ra ra” mood is hard enough. But it’s even harder when you have several of those days….or months. Some setbacks take way too long. So….what do we do?? This week, I share three different tips on how to get through a struggle. Other things that come up include: Why we find more problems when we’re already in a bad mood The certain type of questions that can help us get out of this state Ways to that aren’t so “light and fluffy” to help you focus on positives Shoutout to our sponsor!  Audible: Listen to the books we talk about on the show from where ever you want - the car, the gym, or your commute to rehearsal. • Goodbyes Don’t Always Have to Suck

    02/08/2018 Duración: 29min

We got a little heavy on this week’s topic of goodbye’s. Sure, some of them we can deal with, like when we’re in a show and then it ends. But what about those other times when we AREN’T expecting things to end? Topics we cover in regards to goodbyes: The different types of goodbyes. Why they can be so damn painful. How to handle those goodbyes we knew were coming. (End of show, end of a temporary job, etc.) How to handle those goodbyes that we DON’T expect. (Break ups, or….people close to us passing away.)   This. Stuff. Isn’t Easy. Shout out to our sponsors! Robyn Coffin offers professional, one-on-one, on-camera or monologue  coaching. • Stop Romanticizing the Problem

    19/07/2018 Duración: 26min

Are you a romantic? Whether you are or not, I’m sure you are just like me in the sense that we’ve committed one or both (probably both) of the following: We’ve posted on social media about something we’re upset about. We’ve vented in person to friends about something we’re upset about. There’s nothing necessarily bad about either - but what if we’re constantly doing it without being intentional of how we want to feel when we’re done venting? In episode #19, we discuss… -Reasons why we vent to others. -The benefits we get from venting to others -The challenge that venting brings when we’re not intentional about it. -What to do instead :)   Helpful resources…. • Some Thoughts on Body Image

    12/07/2018 Duración: 29min

I’m a skinny male...and I’m uncomfortable with my body right now. First off - is it even acceptable for a man to be talking about body image? What about all the women who have it worse trying to fit into the mold that society tries to put us in? And if it IS okay for a man to be talking about this - what do we do when all we can focus on are the things we DON’T like about ourselves?? In episode #17, we talk about the following…. -What do we do when we have a problem that we’re uncomfortable sharing because we know others have it worse than us? -How are we supposed to focus on the positives when there’s so many negatives about ourselves we don’t like? -And why the hell did you post an image of your belt loop with the #notperfect hashtag on your instagram earlier this week?! We’ll get into it all. I promise.   Helpful resources: Beachbody on demand: This was the game changer for me and my health. • Getting Off Lonely Island

    28/06/2018 Duración: 24min

"I feel unattractive."  "I'm self conscious about my body."  "I'm going through this and no one can relate to me." I got a little personal in this week's episode of the #TonyRossiShow. If you've said any of the above - I SO HEAR YOU. I personally find it easy to head over to "lonely island" and think no one can relate to what I'm going through, when I'm really challenged and upset. It's. Not. Just. You. Hang in there friends. You're enough where you are - challenges and all. #notperfect  #stillenough   Cool things I mentioned (I mean, I think they're cool...) My awesome friend Kelly Piliouras. • The Outcome Isn't The Point

    21/06/2018 Duración: 16min

What is up, my friends?! So who here is single?....ah….okay good, there’s a few of you. (Me too. We’ll make it through.) But what about when we DON’T think we’ll make it because we’re too focused on rejection? Or things starting to go well, but then not going well? Hell, let’s get rid of the dating metaphor altogether - how often do we as actors, artists and human beings get caught up in the OUTCOME?? If you’ve found yourself getting frustrated with your results (or lack thereof) - this show is for you. Because that outcome? It’s OUT OF OUR CONTROL. So today we’re going to share some advice, thanks to Mel Robbins, and look at a more empowering way of approaching things :)  Also - we have a NEW segment this week! #notperfect moments :) Kuddos this week go to…. • BONUS: #SundayVideo - Why you keep "failing" (and what to do about it)

    18/06/2018 Duración: 11min

Does anyone else have trouble sleeping?   I used to have a REALLY hard time sleeping….and while I wanted to blame my body, that “I’m just born this way,” and a bunch of other factors - there was one big piece missing as to why I wasn’t sleeping well: I wasn’t educated on sleep.   “What? Educated? On sleep? What do you need to know besides turning your devices off an hour before bed?” Turns out there was a lot….   In this week’s #SundayVideo, I share more on what exactly I learned, and how that relates the challenges we face in our own lives: We often get frustrated without ever having to learn WHY we’re so frustrated. We fall into the “I’m just born this way” myth…   Sorry. But it’s bullshit.   I hope you got value this week. And if I can help - message me or shoot me an email! tony.rossi@gmail.com   And remember - you’re enough exactly where you are today. Especially if you’re #notperfect. (Like me.) Go get ‘em, friend.   Kuddos for this episode go to...   “Sleep Smarter” - Shawn Stevenson. https://amzn.to/

  • Goal Setting When You Have Zero Proof Things Will Work

    14/06/2018 Duración: 11min

Well....this is awkward....   I had some technical difficulties this week regarding my laptop...#notperfect  I'll share more about what happened in the podcast, as it relates to this week's message: How do you stay positive when there's no evidence to support that things will get better?  "But Tony! I hear music at the very end of the podcast....how did you manage that?"  Oh...I got my laptop BACK right after I recorded the episode. And I decided it would sound better with some new exit music.  If you got value out of this episode - I'd be grateful if you spread the word!  And if you'd like to join me on the journey to recognizing more and more areas of our lives where we get in our own way of our results and happiness - download a free audio book and grab a non fiction one!  www.audibletrial.com/tonyrossishow

  • That Time I Got Impatient

    07/06/2018 Duración: 13min

It’s okay to “not be okay.” But it’s not okay to stay there.   I find that when I’m getting most upset and frustrated, it’s because I’m not “okay” by the time I was hoping to be. Like when I didn’t recover from an illness (or, *ahem* allergies) as quick as I’d like. Or when I have to keep working day jobs longer than I’d like. This week I share another example of how I REALLY wanted to speed up the timeline of something - even though the instructions were right there in front of me, telling me that I was going to have to wait a little longer.   Things we discussed: Episode 9: #SundayVideo: Get Rid of The F**king TimeLine 5 Second Rule: Mel Robbins Ego is the Enemy - Ryan Holiday Don’t Get Lucky Get Smart - Alan Cohen     OH - did you get you free audio book yet over at www.audibletrial.com/tonyrossishow  ??

  • It's Not Just You

    30/05/2018 Duración: 17min

I used to think there was something "wrong" with me for being different than the norm. I didn't look or act like the popular kids, and that led to its own confusion.... But even though we feel unique and different - our people are still out there.  This week I share how I thought that I was different UNTIL I accidentally found more of my people.  Kuddos for this episode go out to.... Ryan Holiday - "Ego is the Enemy"  Darren Hardy and his DarrenDaily videos.  And as always, thanks to audible for sponsoring the podcast. Head over to www.audibletrial.com/tonyrossishow to snag your first audio book for free.  And let's connect - find me on instagram and twitter!

  • BONUS: #SundayVideo - Get rid of the f**king timeline

    29/05/2018 Duración: 19min

"Although we humans have our own idea of when something is supposed to happen, life has its own idea." -Alan Cohen We tend to put some unfair timelines on ourselves. This week on #SundayVideo, we discussed a few of them and some interesting ideas: -Why age shouldn't dictate where we "should" be in life -Why getting older is a gift -How life often gives us a different version of where we "should" be and how that contrasts to what we expect. ALSO! We read excerpts from and gave kuddos to a few different cool people and authors....you should check them out: -Alan Cohen (Excerpt was read from "Don't Get Lucky, Get Smart.") -Ryan Holiday (Some points taken from "Ego is the Enemy") -Darren Hardy (Shoutout to www.darrendaily.com for the free videos!)  Want to check out one of these books we discussed for free? I'm a positive person. But my kryptonite when it comes to staying positive goes as followed:  1) Working day jobs  2) Being under the weather   This weekend...I endured both.    To make matters worse, I had the WORST type of customer come to my work area this weekend....you know, the person who has probably never had to work a job like this in their entire life??
