I've been thrown many curveballs in my flight training so far. A recent curveball was a run in with a drone! Instead of being worried or mad about it, I want to give drone users some important drone operational safety information. Since drones are still a relatively new but hot commodity, not too many people realize that when they fly drones.. they need to follow FAA Regulations.(Federal Laws) In this episode we are going to talk about the following; If you own or operate a drone, whether that be for personal or commercial (money making) purposes, you need to understand the difference between Part 101 and Part 107 Regulations. Now for the record, I love drones and believe they are incredibly useful and are showing us what flight will be like in the future. I am not a drone hater! Following simple rules and steps will personally put you ahead of the curve for any drone operations you get into. After a 2 week hiatus, I was finally able to get up in the air twice this weekend! I’m still working towards getting to my first solo but I’m finally to the landings stage. After a total of 7 low approaches in 2 days, my instructor finally allowed me to land 3 times! They were pretty terrible landings but it’s a confidence milestone that I’ve been waiting for forever!
