For our 203rd Select episode, we have Jordanian producer, DJ and founder of Waxing Moon collective, Rami HR, known for his experimental sets that skillfully blend various sounds like minimal, tech house, progressive and atmospheric house. Since his emergence in the MENA’s underground electronic music scene, Rami’s music has transcended the borders of his homeland’s dance floors, touring across the globe from Lebanon to Qatar, Thailand and Cambodia. Drawing inspiration from renowned artists the likes of Swayzak, Deep Dish, and Satoshi Tommie, Rami’s distinctive sets serve as narratives that slowly unfurl throughout the night with laid-back melodies and funky grooves. In his exclusive long-hour Select set, Rami brings a brewing dance affair of sweltering synths, robust grooves and dreamy ambient soundscapes featuring soaring vocal samples.

This week on Select 202, we have DJ Corin IIeto, aka CORIN, the Filipina-Australian electronic music producer, composer, and regular monthly host on London’s NTS Radio who is best known for merging classic Western music with hyper-electronic sounds to create immersive soundscapes. Drawing inspiration from her multi-cultural heritage and mythology elements from science fiction, CORIN’s distinctive mixes feature an assemblage of converging styles, ranging from IDM, EBM, trance, and baroque-laden ambience. In her hour-long Select session, CORIN has mixed a selection of tracks from various compilations, which have been released recently to raise funds for Palestine, such as Paralaxe Editions’ ‘For Palestine’, Mrama Division’s ‘By All Means’, and Cease 2 Exist’s ‘Emergency For Gaza’. Egyptian DJ George Gehad is a familiar face to Cairo’s dancefloors, having been a resident DJ at hotspots like Shinko and the North Coast’s uber popular hotspot Kiki’s over the last few years. Diverse in his selections Gehad traverses BPMs and genres from disco to afro to the more commercial side of house. LA based Egyptian DJ/producer​​ Toola offers a range of inventive, upbeat house tracks, going from deep house to minimal to Latin influenced styles inspired by the likes of iconic acts such as Jamie Jones and Lary Levan. Born in Kazakhstan, and raised in the United Arab Emirates, Kirill Zhan is a versatile artist and as co-founder of Moist Paper Party and a resident DJ of SECTA collective, is a key figure in Dubai's burgeoning underground music scene. Kirill excels at seamlessly blending complex sounds which he wasn’t shy to present in his select 193 set. His selection ranges from breaks and electro, with music from Moscow based label, Synchron, Kira Benchi, DB Cooper, Terminal 11, Volpe & Zisco hitting the 1s and 2s perfectly. Egyptian-born Bizou has always had a knack for melding traditional melodies of the region with modern electronic beats. Her music, a blend of East and West, got its initial recognition in local clubs before resonating across European venues. This week’s #Select is brought to us by Julian Mesa, a Bahrain-based house and techno artist from Brooklyn, NYC. Growing up stateside in the ‘90s, Julian was exposed to a wave of what are now considered to be some of the most important records in electronic music history The spinner has taken the decks in multiple local and international locations including Berlin, Bahrain, Las Vegas, Miami, Colombia and Tokyo, to name a few. This 60-minute set brings us a melange of Hardcore Techno, Acid and melodic mastery through fast-paced hard-hitting bass, intricate percussions, glitchy Arabic vocals and dark melodies. Some of the artists featured in the set include Jay Lumen, Victor Ruiz, Bart Skills and two original tracks by Mesa himself.

With a love for all music genres, Mosty doesn’t discriminate in his sets with Old-School house inspirations intertwining with tech house, techno and minimal breakbeats proven to get you on your feet. This 80-minute-long set showcases Mosty’s diverse sound stretching across the different sub genres of house music.
